Last year my supporters on Patreon helped me decide when Zally's birthday is. We eventually settled on April 11th (which coincidentally is one month after my own birthday). Happy Birthday Zally!

Second time needle felting.
Of course I had to make my late dog. I will most likely make more of her.
Borrowed some of my cat's fur to mix in with the white wool to get the tail right.
Once I make a perfect version of her, my dog, I will add some of her fur that I saved.

Zal Yanovsky - As Long As You're Here (1968)
Zal Yanovsky quit the Lovin’ Spoonful in the aftermath of the famous drug bust in San Francisco. This was his first and only 45, recorded with producer Jack Nitzsche. This song is a bit unhinged (in a good way) but it also shows off his often underappreciated guitar skills. He later went on to be a successful chef!
So last week I had to spend the night in a haunted house—it’s a long story but it had to do with stipulations from an inheritance I was about to receive from a distant great aunt that I honestly thought died decades ago, but I digress—I stumbled into the attic because there was no WiFi and the electrical wiring was dubious at best so plugging in my phone probably would have given it poltergeists and until this inheritance I really wasn’t set up to spend money on an Apple Exorcist. I rifled through some boxes looking for the good shit, like an old Hamilton Beach hand crank for treating “hysteria” or a yellowed wedding dress that you could put on and suddenly be compelled to wander the halls looking for Elias who died in the Great War. And then, in an old dusty frame, I came across this photograph. My eyes widened. No, it couldn’t be. With shaking hands I carefully smashed the frame against a support beam and read the back of the photo: “The Lovin’ Spoonful, 1887.” The Spoonful are vampires, confirmed.
