I HAVE A POTENTIALLY ANGSTY FIC IDEA FOR JAYKYLE ft. Star Sapphire Jason Todd.
A little bit of Background on the Violet Lantern Corps (Star Sapphires):
From what I know about the star sapphire corps initially is that they mainly harnesses to power of love AND rage. The rings find people who have been loved and spurned (sound familar?)
Going off of the original corps they typically were possessed or overcome with the power of the star sapphire crystal which kind of made them susceptible to villainous acts of love. But they got reformed and create a central power battery with power rings, and the new corps is mostly good.
They also had to deal with Predator. Predator is the embodiment of the violet light (love) kind of like Parallax and Ion. He's typically a toxic form of love, mostly violent or obsessive love. He was defeated by Carol Ferris and became slightly less creepy when he got retconned, with his main focus shifting to manipulating a powerful violet lantern, giving them God-like powers steming from a parasitic attachment that manipulates their inner aggression and alters the love they have for someone to obsession.
THE JAYKYLE BIT:
JayKyle after getting together and settling into a relationship.
1. after getting over the whole hating each other thing
2. a childhood sweetheart au where jason dies, comes back, and instead of fighting with the batfam Kyle finds him instead
3. during his run as red hood sees Kyle again
4. Something else idk
Whatever the origin is Jason becomes a star sapphire because of the events of Under the Red Hood and his rocky relationship with the fam (loved and scorned). I'm thinking at some point after UtRH and after JayKyle reunion more violet rings are sent out, new Star Sapphire Jason Todd gets possessed either by the Star Sapphire crystal somehow or Predator. (More angst if it's childhood sweetheart au, Kyle loses Jason twice 😈).
A. The main conflict could focus on Jason's obsession with being accepted by his family and his revenge on the Joker, in a very toxic way that takes up every moment in his life after his possession from the crystal or Predator, leaving Kyle to the side to figure out how to save him.
OR
B. Have it center around a conflicting geniune "eternal love" for Kyle and his obsessive/violent love focused on his family and the internal struggle between him and his twisted emotions from Predator/Star Sapphire Crystal.
OR
C. Jason is possessed by Predator and is some what unattached to his family already so no one knows he's a Star Sapphire besides the green lanterns. Jason and Predator have an agreement and get along. Despite having a parasitic god like entity in his brain, Jason is pretty chill about the whole thing especially because he has some control over when Predator is out vs when Jason is in charge. (A little OOC for both of them, but it would be interesting).
Some intergalactic/alternate dimension evil is putting earth at risk, and Kyle gets injured defending it with the justice league + titans. Either Jason is there already or he tethers to Kyle because of his eternal love being at risk (love attunement). Seeing Kyle down in a fight and his family again for the first time since UtRH he gets overwhelmed and suddenly Predator is in the front seat.
Feeding on Jason's rage, obsession, and love in the moment Predator decides the best case scenario is to go feral, which ends up in a dead army of whatever threat was there, a very wary justice league, relived green lanterns, and very confused/angry/hurt batfam.
Idk, I have so many ideas for it, it'd be so good. Mostly ideas for physcologically torturing Kyle, with minor injuries in some🤷♀️
