Evil Xisuma never felt at home on the Hermitcraft server.
The Hermits weren’t the most accepting of their arrival, nor of anything they did. In fact, the others were so dismissive of who they were, that Evil X lost their name. They became nothing more than Xisuma’s evil clone to them. But they grew to accept the role the others put on them. They pulled more pranks and made threats to them all. They played the villain, after all, that’s all they could be.
And of course, the Hermits banned Evil X to the deep void for their actions. Locking them away for what felt like an eternity. Or maybe it was an eternity. They couldn’t tell the time in the void, every day it was the same endless black. All they could do was float in the freezing cold, alone with their thoughts.
The same thoughts that tried to drag their floating body down. Which technically wasn’t possible, but it certainly dragged them down mentally. The thoughts of endless hate that they knew were true but still hurt. Those thoughts lasted every minute of every day that they floated in the nothingness.
Until Zedaph came around.
Somehow, Zed had managed to break the ban that was on them and bring them back to the Hermitcraft Server. However, Zed always called himself “Worm Man” back then for some reason. That was just another thing Evil X learned to roll with though. Zed had saved them from the void, it wouldn't be polite to just ignore him.
“Worm Man” showed them all the wonders of the newly updated world. Taught them about all the things they missed or forgot about. “Worm Man” was patient with them, letting them explore at their own pace. And over time, Evil X grew to trust him. They became “Worm Man”s side-kick, helping him whenever he needed it.
Evil X became to like living on Hermitcraft.
It wasn’t quite home, but it was pretty close. Zed taught them how to build so they could build their own base. It wasn’t the best-looking building, but Evil X loved it. Zed was the only one to ever visit, but they had to keep their existence on the server secret. If Xisuma knew they were there, he would probably just ban them back to the void.
Building whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. They would spend hours with Zedaph though. Watching him build his contraptions or try to listen as he talked about redstone. But they never quite understand how it worked.
Each day, they got closer and closer to Zedaph. Whenever they were together, Evil X felt their heart speeding up and they started to smile at everything Zed did. They didn’t know what that meant, but they knew they felt safe with Zed. He was one of the first to treat them like they were human, not some flawed glitch.
Zed put so much effort into making sure they felt welcome on the server. Even though he was the only one who knew they were there. He managed to make their section of the world the best place Evil X had ever been. Zedaph would take them on picnics to new places every week, hand cooking each dish; he’d gift them new building supplies after grind sessions or trips to the shopping district; once, Zed even bought them their own elytra and taught them how to fly.
Then one day, Zed took them to a new place. He said it was a surprise, but that scared them a little. Zed’s surprises tended to explode immediately. However, this surprise ended up being the one that changed their life. More so than Zed saving them.
Zedaph confessed to them. He loved them. They didn’t know how he could love a mess like them, but they were glad he did.
Their relationship had a bit of a rocky start, but they were able to make it work. All they needed was to be together and they could figure anything out.
That was when Evil X finally realized they had found a home.
Not on Hermitcraft, but with Zedaph.
They told Zed that the best way they knew, “Hey Zed?”
Telling Zed their name, their real name not the one the Hermits forced on them.
