............really well, actually!
first of all, the written exam. despite his completely untamed ADHD, he’s pretty academically inclined, and he’s actually good at remembering large quantities of information if he has to. it’s just he can’t remember them for very long haha, he keeps it in his head long enough to pass exams. so he would’ve gotten a good grade on it!
tbh he could probably be among the top of the class if he had Coping Mechanisms but he sure doesn’t. he got a very undeserved A, which would frustrate everyone around him considering he didn’t study besides reading as much as he could the literal night/morning before. feel free to hate him for this
as for the practical exam, that was a blast and a half. it’s true he gets very distracted all the time and that affected his performance a bit, but it did help with the rescue points when it came to other students.
his concentration gets worse when he activates his Quirk bcus his brain gets kinda fuzzy with static? if he saw something more interesting he’d drop whatever he was doing and chase that. like sometimes he’d be fighting one robot, would see one that was worth more points, and abandon the current one even though he hadn’t taken it down yet.
with the other students, if they had Quirks he thought were cool then he’d space out and watch them for a while, how they fought and utilised their powers. he has a tendency to say what’s on his mind so if he thought they could improve he would just jump in. if he saw someone that needed help he would automatically switch targets and then talk strategy with them before sending them on their way. it can come off as him being bossy but he really is just trying to help.
all this said, his Quirk has high offensive capabilities and is very effective against mechanical/metallic targets, so he had fun with this exam. he would transform and travel through their circuitry to fry it or just shoot lightning at them from afar.
he crashed super hard after the exam tho, like just immediately snoozed on the floor when the test ended. they thought he passed out so he woke up in Recovery Girl’s office like “uhhhhhhhh”

- he really likes him! was a bit intimidated at first but that's only because hoshizawa is tall.
- evan loves mythology, and dragons especially! he'd be happy to talk to hoshizawa about dragons for hours on end
- he'd love to talk to hoshizawa for any reason at all, actually. he thinks he's very neat! he wouldnt mind chilling with the guy
- he'd probably carve a little dragon figurine or two for him! he'd probably paint and name them and everything too. "this is gerald and he'll be your friend from now on!"
- if evan ever found any books or maybe just merch centered around constellations or dragons he'd probably go "oh wow i think maybe hoshizawa-san would like this!" before buying it with the sole purpose of gifting it to him
- despite contrary belief, evan wouldn't actually drag hoshizawa into his bullshit akdksls. yes, evan is chaotic! but he likes hoshizawa too much for that!!
- he might play a harmless joke or two tho (aka, things like updog and candice ✌)
- also thinks that hoshizawa is kinda cute! like with jetsam, if you'd ask him, he'd openly state it!
all the pta asks are because we gave our ocs mean parents and tragic backstories and we're all coming to the only nice adult with power in this world in their life (sato and miss me) even though we brought this upon ourselves because we just want to see our ocs bad parents getting yelled at by someone with power because they suck
that said hoshiz parents aren't good either so it's not like I don't want them yelled at either >:)
