❥ sometimes they travel in disguise so they don’t have to deal with people recognizing them and wanting to chat or fawn, but their disguises are always really bad and easily seen-through; most people can see that they’re trying and leave them alone on principal

❥ zelda joined a local band in hateno which is made up of all old people and small children. they play folk songs at cute little events and link always goes to every one

❥ morning cuddles. always. 

❥ all of the neighborhood cats and dogs were fed and loved by zelda, to the point where the morning chores now include setting out food for close to 20-something animals and the local wildlife is beginning to get smart (including the occasional blupee). link initially complained but ofc ends up loving the animals just as much as her and plays with them!

❥ one of their favourite spots to visit has always been the hot springs up in the Hebra Mountains, especially on clear nights when the stars and northern lights are out. it’s super romantic and there’s never anyone around!

I wrote some hateno house specific hcs before, here they are! 

but also some more because god knows I don’t write enough domestic fluff,

☀ both link and zelda are more on the introverted scale of things, so doing things ‘alone but together’ is a favourite past-time. Zelda might be going over notes while Link sharpens his swords; maybe they’re both reading outside, using each other to lean on; whatever it is, they can comfortably go hours without actually saying anything to each other, but still enjoying the company nonetheless, just happy to be close. 

☀ zelda is a budding botonist (ha ha) and enjoys gardening inside and outside. Link seems to be an endless source of knowledge as to where each plant is usually found, or what conditions it likes the best, so they work together to keep the plants happy and healthy, while studying the benefits of each. It’s happened more than once however where Link will pick the wrong plant, or pick something he thinks is one plant but is actually another thanks to Zelda having spliced it or created some new monstrosity of an herb that makes them both freezing cold or burning hot for the remainder of the evening after dinner. The best (or worst, depending on how you look at it) was a case of too much zapshroom and both of them were conducting static for a solid 24 hours. yay!! science!!

☀ on particularly nice days, they wake up early to go for a horse ride and watch the day break over Hyrule field. 

☀ There’s a local market in town in which Zelda visits occasionally to sell rare herbs and medicines that she’s cultivated herself. Link offers his services to sharpen weapons and train in technique, though most of his “customers” are the local kids in town, and he can’t bring himself to ever actually charge them for anything because he has so much fun play-fighting with them

When Link is frustrated he will aggressively sign his curse words, and Zelda can't read his signs and demands him to speak, much to his dismay. Zelda on the other hand will cuss in Gerudo, and Link sort of understands bits and pieces of what she says...

I know I don’t personally hc Link as mute but god I still love silent Link... this is funny af

Headcanon that when Link and Zelda are finally expecting their first child and Link is SUPER PROTECTIVE and super in tune to her cravings and needs

◇ as much as Zelda doesn’t want to admit it, she’s really bad at hiding her emotions. So Link can read her like a book. He knows when she’s not happy and when she wants something but doesn’t know how to say it, and this is really amplified when she’s pregnant for the first time. 

◇ it’s brand new to both of them!! They’d seen pregnant people before but never really knew the details and what it all came with. So Zelda is a little grumpy and sad, and Link is nothing but patient and loving, and this makes her even more frustrated because he’s TOO GOOD TO HER why can’t he just be a little bit of an asshole to make her feel better? obviously she doesn’t actually want that, but she feels v gross and unhappy (still excited obviously) and wishes Link kinda knew how bad it was?

◇ he brings her twice as many flowers, and cooks hot and spicy food or cool and chilly food depending on the weather that day. she starts craving more sweets than usual so he hunts down wildberries and tries making crepes and cakes for breakfast◇ even though he’s always calm and cool on the outside, on the inside he’s kind of panicking because what the fuck babies are so weird and giving birth is so weird and Zelda being pregnant is So Weird. but the idea of being a dad is really good motivation because he can’t wait to be a great father and he knows Zelda is gonna make the best mum in all of Hyrule and he tells her this almost daily!

❥ they say goodnight to each other every night and follow the same routine in the way they say it, but change it up now and again; eg “don’t let the chuchus bite” or “hope you dream of fruitcake”❥ if Zelda compliments him on how handsome he is, he’ll always return the favor and argue that she’s more beautiful than he is handsome, until she finally stops arguing and punches him (lightly) in the arm❥ they play little games, like wrestling or tickle fights, tho sometimes it turns into something a lil nsfw… but usually it’s just cute and ends in Link showering her with kisses and Zelda getting all warm and blushy❥ if they walk around together they’re always holding hands and Link is usually the one to reach for her hand. he squeezes it now and again and basically feels very Proud to walk around with her next to him because he’s so relieved they finally got their happy ending❥ Link is always trying to bring new and exciting flowers home for Zelda so he ends up at the highlands hunting down swift violets or running from bears to get wildberry blooms in the spring so there’s always variety for her!!

zelink headcanons where theyre old and happi after defeating ganon when they were in their teens,,,, pls

☾ They’re in their sixties, retired from acting King and Queen. Turns out their little girl, Zelda, who’s nearing forty and a mother of three, was a natural-born leader! They get to babysit their grandchildren, twin boys and one girl, and it’s their favourite thing in the whole world.

☾ They live in the Hateno House still and it’s received a lot of upgrades over the years. Bolson, Link, and some friends built on another second story so that the grandkids would have a place to stay and play when they visit. They also built a study/library for Zelda. 

☾ They still say their I love yous and goodnights and smooch every night before falling asleep c: They cuddle more than they used to because Link is more prone to being chilly at night. 

☾ Link is old but he’s still a strong warrior. He dreams of a goddess named Hylia who tells him that he’ll return some day. He doesn’t tell Zelda; he’s pretty sure she already knows.

☾ Hyrule has discovered waffles and Link and Zelda are obsessed with them. They’re constantly trying to make fluffier waffles than the other. 

☾ Link has learned how to play a variety of musical instruments in his free time, including the accordion, flute, and harp, and loves surprising Zelda with the occasional recital. When he’s done playing sometimes, they dance together, holding hands and slowly circling the living room, close and quiet and more in love every day.
