The Dragon Deities are often confused with monsters, due to the Dragon Family of Monsterkind... however, Dragon Deities aren't actually monsters at all! The very first Dragon Deity was Xenlon, who gave birth to two other Dragon Deities: first the Dragon Queen and then the Zenith Dragon. Dragon Deities generally give birth two to three times in their life, without a mate, however, it is possible for Dragon Deities to mate with other species and then give birth to hybrids.
There hasn't been any word of the Zenith Dragon giving birth to any other Dragon Deities, but the Dragon Queen actually gave birth to a half-Dragon Deity and half-human hybrid who would come to be known as the Dragonlord. The Dragon Queen infused Dragonlord’s egg with her life force and died in order for Dragonlord to be born. Or hatched, I suppose. This is how the Dragovians came to be, as Dragonlord was the very first Dragovian. The first Dragovians were more Dragon Deity than human and they would expend more energy while out of dragon form than they would by being in it. Not to mention their human form was... barely even recognizable as a human. Many years went by and the Dragovians became more human than Dragon Deity. Their human forms became much more human-like and they started having to expend energy to be in their dragon-forms at all. Unfortunately, they tried to forsake their human forms... but they didn't have enough Dragon Deity in them to do this without reverting to violent beasts. Some believe that Greygnarl and Barbarus are also Dragon Deities but this is as of yet unproven.
