Because like it or not Little Mix’s PR team continues to use the Zerrie breakup at every opportunity. I don’t follow Little Mix as a fan (I like two or three songs though) but I have Google Alerts set for Zayn so I know how many times a day his named is linked to their GetWeird promo tour. Similar to what Taylor did with Harry.

Zayn & Perrie v Babygate

I just spent the weekend with my big group of uni friends. Early to mid twenty somethings, London based, even balance of guys and girls, none of whom are 1D fans but all, to a lesser or greater extent, take a general interest in what is going on in pop culture. They all know that I am an out and proud fan, and so as is often the case, this weekend several of them at various points casually brought up 1D news with me, in a a kind of "hey you'll have an opinion on this" kind of way. Without fail, every single time someone brought it up they brought up Zayn and Perrie. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I was so prepared to have to defend babygate against the whole "but didn't you tell us he was gay" thing. But nope. Nobody mentioned it. Nothing. Nada. I was so surprised. I actually raised it at one point, just to see if I got any response. And someone just laughed and went "that whole thing is ridiculous" and nobody else even cared enough to contribute. But Zayn and Perrie... everyone had an opinion. I was amazed! No way would I have thought that the Zerrie break-up would be overshadowing babygate like this. I have also seen more articles in trashy magazines in show and on the tube covering Zerrie than I did babygate, but I figured I was just missing the babygate ones. I don't really know what conclusion to draw from this? I am in no state for coherent thought right now thanks to said weekend with uni friends. But I just thought it was interesting so wanted to share and also see if this has been anyone else's experience?
