Zinburger, 1865 E River Rd, Tucson, AZ 85718
Zinburger is a local Tucson gourmet burger chain that elevates the burger experience. I was surprised by how large the space was and how busy. It’s a place for gathering, relaxing, and eating. It has a polished, chain feel. It reminded me of Mendocino Farms only for burgers. It’s full service.
The menu includes appetizers (fries, wings), salads, burgers (including a build your own burger option), cocktails, wine, beer, and shakes. They have some gluten-free options, including gluten-free buns, but nothing on the menu was labeled vegan.
Portions were smaller and burgers did not come with sides. A classic burger is $9.75 and the priciest burger was $13.95. Burgers are made with certified Angus beef. They also had a turkey burger and a veggie burger.
Zucchini fries ($7.75) with Parmesan and Ranch dressing. The portion was small. The fries were generously dushed with Parmesan but didn’t have much cheese flavor. The zucchini was julienned into thinner strips than I’m used to and the batter was lighter (panko crumbs) than LA zucchini fries. Tasted good and healthier but wasn’t crunchy. Also, Ranch is a boring dressing to offer on the side.
Farm salad ($11): quinoa, corn, avocado, carrot, cabbage, radish, cucumber, tomato, feta, and champagne vinaigrette. It looked good and had a lot going on. Ingredients were fresh.
Service was friendly. It did live up the image of being an elevated burger place. Parking was easy (it’s in a strip mall).
