Wow I just realized I'm on first name terms with Hubert (like how superhero fans call Superman and Batman "Clark" and "Bruce") but not Zoidberg... weird
Unlike many of my fannish idiosyncrasies, I can actually explain that: my headcanon is that Decapodians only have one name (like "Zoidfarb," for instance), and that "John A." is just an alias Zoidberg uses on Earth (same with Harold Zoid) - Edna, who's known him since high school, calls him by his supposed last name after all, but Mom obviously hasn't known him *that* long. Either that, or Decapodians are like the Japanese, and consider it polite to call someone you only know as a classmate or work college by their family name.
Either way, Hubert calling Zoidberg "John" the first time was enough to make his four kokoros go dokidokidoki
crisertunity asked you: Farnsworth/Zoidberg
who cooks normally?: Zoidberg. When you live in a dumpster, you get used to concocting meals from whatever's available – his food might not taste good, but it gets the job done!
how often do they fight?: Quite a bit; they're two Cloudcuckoolanders, one of whom is senile and bad-tempered and the other quite childish. Like most couples, they'd always make up in the end, although they sometimes forget that they settled one particular argument and have it again several decades later.
nicknames for each other? Johnny and Zoidy(poo), of course - they're kind of obvious but they work for Hubert. Zoidberg occasionally adopts Mom's nickname of "Hubie" for Hubert.
who is more likely to pay for dinner? Hubert, since he's the only one who *can*. If Zoidberg could, though, he would. Every single time.
who steals the covers at night? Neither of them. Hubert is old enough to sleep fairly soundly, and Zoidberg, despite being cold blooded and often needing them, feels too bad for his bony lover to take them away from him.
what would they get each other for gifts? Zoidberg would pull some strings at MomCorp to get a hold of perfectly preserved alien specimens for Hubert to either experiment on or just admire. Hubert would just shower Zoidberg with gift vouchers for things like oil changes and tanning (don't you just love when a relationship as a whole isn't canon but one little aspect of it is?)
who kissed who first? Zoidberg gave Hubert a little puppy-like slurp on the cheek first, plus several more besides in the intervening years (CANONCANONCANONCANON - "I'm so into you!") They've actually only kissed on the lips once, when Hubert was drunk enough to initiate it but not to remember it the next day, but Zoidberg is just about okay with their relationship being the chaste ball of cuteness it is.
who made the first move? Zoidberg has been doing his best to make a move on Hubert all the 80+ years they've known each other, and Hubert always subtly reciprocates even if they prefer to keep the status quo of a strictly professional relationship... at least in public.
who remembers things? Zoidberg. Somehow I get the feeling he'd do the lion's share of the remembering even if Hubert still had the ability to remember things.
who started the relationship? Hubert kind of initiated their friendship, as seen in "The Tip of the Zoidberg", but it was Zoidberg who picked up on the fact that they both felt something more.
who cusses more? Hubert, but Zoidberg isn't above the occasional Decapodian curse word slyly slipped into his speech.
what would they do if the other one was hurt? Hubert would immediately spring into action against whoever hurt Zoidberg (canooooooooooon, the wind whispered), and Zoidberg would muster all the medical knowledge of humans he had to help Hubert - even if he'd probably just end up making it worse, especially if it were a minor injury. This relationship is actually slightly dark now that I think about it, but that's by no means a bad thing.
