Sherry nodded.
“My parents- I like to think that they cared. They were always just... So busy. I ended up learning to take care of myself, ‘cause I couldn’t always count on them to do it for me, you know?”
It was nice to talk to someone who understood. There were a lot of people out there who would simply give her a funny look. Like there was no way her parents could have been wrong - they were her parents, after all.
But if Sherry knew anything, it was that you couldn’t always rely on the people who were supposed to take care of you. She’d learned that lesson very well from Simmons.
“Maybe I’m just lying to myself about that, though. I never got to ask, so. Either way, at least the people we know now care, right?”

i was so worried for the kitten at first sfjksgdeg
carl’s anomalous properties don’t affect animals and other non-human creatures, so there’s no need to worry.

The biker tossed his legs over the side of the makeshift bed, finally sitting upright. Well, musing over the total pointlessness of life was a thing he'd done before. Teenage Francis had spent a number of nights thinking about it. And besides, it was better than dreaming about the life he'd never get back.
He rubbed his eyes, before sleepily responding.
"Sounds like fun. Mind if I join ya?"
( @zombieslain // from here )
A cocked eyebrow and a questioning smile from the Wanderer marked her amusement at his answer. It’d be hypocritical of her to chastise Francis’ reply. After all, she’d probably have responded the same way, at one point in time.
“ Alright, that much I can respect, vest. Just try not to piss off anymore Deathclaws on the way back to the city, huh ? Consider it a personal favor. Do whatever else you like, though. If it looks fun, I might even join in. ”
“ look at him, in his little shirt!! ” {emma showing francis one of her rats in a doll shirt sjsjshs}
A short snicker escaped Francis, as he watched Chocolate scurry around in his new striped shirt. He’d seen dogs in jackets, and cats in booties, but never a rat in a tiny polo.
It was... Sort of cute, in a way. He’d never thought rats could be cute. But then again, he’d only ever seen them from the point of view of someone who had way too many running around his yard. So, perhaps Emma had proven him wrong - again.
“Looks like he likes it,” he smirked, directing his attention away from the furry critter and to Emma, “Seems almost excited ‘bout it as you. Where’d you find the shirt? I ain’t seen a dollhouse since we left Fairfield.”
Then again, he hadn’t really been looking. But still, curiosity got the better of him, yet again.

“Well…obviously. But we gotta live on for them. That’s why I’m here.”
☣ - “Cycle of life and death, right?” she sighed, stick idly poking at the zombie corpse in front of her, pretending that she wasn’t talking about herself. It’s easier to just deflect the emotions onto something else.
“Maybe that’s why it bothers me so much when I hear the term ‘zombie’. I mean, it gives some kind of sense of immortality....seein’ how the orginal legend was a Voodoo tale about witches and sorcerers resurrecting the dead. But there’s no coming back from death. They’re not dead just....infected.Only thin’ that’s dead is any capability to think for themselves anymore. Still, can’t help but feel bad for the guy...getting left behind by his pack like that...the weak ones always get kicked out eventually. Though, funny enough, I think those are the ones more likely to bite ya.”
"Let’s go to the woods. You run through the trees and I’ll hum the Game of Thrones theme." w emma bc shes an idiot nerd

Leondas smiled, emitting a soft giggle at the idea. The woods were always a wonderful place to be, and running through the trees always ignited something wild and primal within him.
Of course, her version of the Game of Thrones theme would only amplify the experience in the best of ways.
❝ Sounds like a plan. Let’s do it. ❞
