The next morning the four neat lines on Oluwande’s chest have scabbed over. They’ll be gone within the day, and if he’s lucky – which he usually is – they won’t even leave a scar. There will be no reminder of this. But Jim can still feel blood on their claws. And from there – oh, from there it’s an easy spiral. They’re already tired, exhausted to the bone from the nightmare and the sleepless hours that followed.

she's definitely the little spoon 90% of the time although vehemently denies it

she uses childlike things to self-soothe/self-regulate, like plushies, weighted blankets, fidget toys etc

she sleeps with a nightlight as she has an intense fear of the dark

and the cyrillic spelling looks so pretty! i feel like she doesn't like spelling it that way though and prefers the phonetic/anglicised spelling, like her sister, who changed her name from natalia romanova to natasha romanoff. it feels like honouring her memory to keep it as yelena and not Елена

Text in the second image: Wild rabbits are also a huge threat. As a result of their rapid population growth, they strip whole landscapes clear of vegetation, leading to erosion. The indigenous rabbit-bandicoot (bilby) loses out. It is driven out of its natural habitat, both its feeding ground and its burrows. Bilbies are on the brink of extinction because of wild rabbits!

Without waiting for Steve, Eddie shifts his weight just enough to barely meet Steve’s lips, and then he is breathless. The hand next to Eddie comes to cup the back of his neck, leading him deeper and deeper into the kiss, gently at first, the other dropping to trace along Eddie’s waist to the center of his back, pulling him closer to Steve until they’re touching neck to hip. A gentle trace of Steve’s tongue against Eddie’s lips and they’re making out again, and it is somehow better than Eddie remembered.

He realizes that he’s not doing anything, again, and brings both of his hands to rest on Steve’s glorious chest. He can’t feel it, but Eddie knows there’s texture under Steve’s layers, but he can’t feel it, so he tugs gently on Steve’s Family Video vest. “Too many layers,” Eddie mutters between kisses, and Steve huffs in agreement, releasing his hold on Eddie just long enough to drop the vest to the floor before coming back to hold Eddie again.

The next afternoon, Dotty deftly maneuvers her world-famous (or at least plenty popular at church potlucks, which is just as good in her book) tuna noodle casserole in one hand, turning her key carefully to lock her door, and walks the ten whole feet between her door and the new neighbors’. She knocks primly, shifting the casserole’s weight between her hands. It’s freshly made and covered in foil, a thick quilted (reversible!) cozy made by Betty some years ago, the sweetheart, keeping it warm. She remembers it fondly—it’s from when Betty first moved in herself so long ago, into that apartment upstairs with Virginia. Dotty doesn’t know how those two manage the stairs so often.
