April 10, 2021 - Swinhoe's White-eye (Zosterops simplex)
Found in parts of Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and China, these white-eyes inhabit forests, shrublands, parks, gardens, farmlands, and urban areas. They eat fruit, insects, and nectar, often gathering in small flocks at flowering trees. Females or pairs build cup-shaped nests from grasses, plant fibers, and other materials. They lay clutches of two to six eggs.
