Merry Christmas to @kodessa ! I’m your zr secret Santa! You had Amelia/Zoe as one of your favourite ships and I realised that I had not drawn the two of them in LITERALLY YEARS so enjoyed revisiting them both!

I slowly allowed the tension I still held in my upper limbs melt into Felix for a moment, before jerking my head upright slightly.  “Don’t let me fall asleep,” I said, blinking slowly at the flower in my hair, “I can’t until I get home… it’s not safe… Zombies…”  "There aren't any zombies here, Five. You're safe," Felix said, "I don't think I could keep you awake even if I tried. Your body needs to rest after all that. We'll get you cleaned up a bit and take a rest here before moving on. I'm not going to leave you until you're safe back home again, okay? You can sleep." “I’m sorry…” I said, allowing my eyes to fall closed as my face slipped to rest by his neck, “I’m sorry I ran like that… shouldn’t’ve… caused this somehow…. whatever side effects Van Ark hinted at… I can’t afford to like the feeling of running that much anymore… I have to run to survive…” He started to say something but I grumble-shushed him. “You know…” I muttered, as warm, welcoming, comforting darkness started to envelop my mind, “I wish you could’ve met my dad… he raised me to fight for people… help them… be kind to them… protect them… he never left anyone behind… or betrayed anyone…" My last words were so quiet I didn’t even know if he could hear them as I shivered, my sweat freezing on my skin now that the heat was gone. “You’re like that. Thank you… my dad was… like you… thank you for… keeping me safe… I haven’t felt this safe in… so long… Felix…” I slipped off into the darkness in his comforting embrace before I could finish the thought. ---- It was all a little too much, but in a good sort of way. Between the adrenaline dissipating into relief, and Five's confession... Well, he'd always been accused of being a softie, and it wasn't necessarily something he was ashamed of. He turned his face into Five's damp hair and let himself cry.

This is one of my favorite scenes so far in the crossover Bright Five apocalypse au fic with @masterfuldoodler and @meadow-roses hhhhh its so angsty but so soft and hhhh my feels
