Bonapartenykus was, sadly, not named for Napoleon Bonaparte, but you know, at least we can try to pretend that it was. Anywho, it was an Alvarezsaur about 2.6 meters long, and it was found in northwestern Patagonia, Argentina. It lived about 70 million years ago in the Campanian/Maastrichtian ages (on the boundary) of the Late Cretaceous period. It is known from a partial skeleton found with two eggs inside and other eggs associated with the skeleton, making it a fairly unique find. It is one of the later alvarezsaurs, surviving into the Maastrichtian age unlike many of its close relatives. It had two eggs in two presumed oviducts, and thus the find is probably female; and it was probably a nesting animal given the closeness of the other fossilized eggs. The eggs also showed signs of fungal contamination, indicating that the mother's death lead to their lack of care and death.

  El mejor descanso del día. Saludas a diestro y siniestro y no reconoces ni al tiesto. Buen humor y alegría, lo de siempre jefe.
