(at our parents & anyone else like them, who claims “but I still love you!!!” while trying to control someone’s gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, or any other aspect of their identity (which is not yours to control):)

If you say you love someone,

but want to change them or don’t “believe” they’re LGBT+

you don’t actually love them.

You love an image of them - the concept you have of who they are to you in your mind,

a persona of them, an actor/actress you believe //is// their true self,

But not the real person.

Because real love understands people are like trees or rivers -

Ever growing, ever changing, but still your people.

If you only love them when they’re masking, pretending to be cishet, etc.

you do not love them.

You love the act, your perception...a puppet you can control.

You leave them unseen, completely misunderstood, & yet you claim to love them.

People are not meant to be controlled. People’s identities are not meant to be controlled.

So no. You don’t love them. You only love the act.

      There's no denying the fear, the feeling of being alone that's so haunting. A sense of displacement, as if everywhere you go, you're not truly apart of anything. Perhaps that's my greatest fear, never finding a place where I fit, never finding a place where people take me, for me. Though, logically thinking, isn't that everyone's fear in the end? I would assume such, considering everyone has someone. Family, friends, acquaintances, partners. Everyone is surrounded by someone, whether they're close or simply glancing by in a flash. Someone is always there. In a way, it feels as though that explains why I'm the way that I am. I'm always there, bowing down to whatever is needed, restrained when I'm 'free'. I'm supposed to be grateful, they say, grateful for the fact I'm still alive, that I am able to breath in air outside of my prison walls if even for a split moment. It's never-ending torture, toying with my sanity, feeding into a blood-lust that sees no end. They do not deserve me. Humanity deserves nothing.
