Young Men and Depression: The Stigma and Discrimination.
It feels like Young Men and Depression are two things so many people reject in society today. We live in a world where we are so drowned in political correctness not for the sake of actually respecting everyone else but instead creating a fake world where you do it because you have to and not want to. We simply tolerate things more and hide away from these issues than deal with them. The Suicide Rate for young males in their early 20s and late teens hasn’t stopped growing. Most adults say they should be strong and just deal with it. Most girls in their life patronize them or baby them to the point where they are drowned in sympathy or people fearing them. Fear of not knowing how to deal with that darkness. I feel like there are so many more facilities today that cater for women than men going through sexual abuse or mental health issues. I feel like everyone should have access to care that can suit them equally. This society we have created where we focused so much on one side that we neglected another. I stand for EVERYBODY being able to get the treatment to overcome their depression and not feel alone. Girls and Boys should not be the focus. People should be the focus.
Casual Fans and Anime? Why do we hurt each other?
Sometimes its easy to be a casual fan of something like sport or a movie series. When it comes down to anime and manga things get a bit cloudy and grey. Exclusion. One word i’ve always continued to hate. I mean you dont have to be friends with everybody and i dont want a fake society to be created that acts like you have to like and respect everyone. But i feel like we outcast people too often for being different. Different, Is a interesting word because we are all different regardless, In our own way. Shutting casual fans out because they aren’t on the same level as you (what ever the fuck that means) Is shutting out somebody that has new ideas, new opinions and a new and different perspective. Anime and manga is an escape for some and simply a form of entertainment for others. We must understand that if we want to grow as a community and save the dying anime industry we have to build stronger ties. Casual fans aren’t a bad thing and im sure a lot of you know that. How much of a fan you are DOES NOT DEFINE YOUR WORTH AS A HUMAN TO THE CULTURE. This hate for each others and hostility for others that comes from simple choices in their likes and dislikes is making this community toxic. And its making the cosplay community toxic as well. Its as simple as love what you want, Dont judge others for what they love and shut up.
How you know you love a Sport anime?
Prince of tennis, kurokos basketball, slam dunk, captain tsubasa, haikyuu, ace of diamond and many moreeeee. Whether you love sport anime or not there is 3 CLEAR SIGNS you or your friend love a certain sports anime. 1. You've wanted to play that sport sometime yourself from watch the show alone. Ever watch free and want to swim even though you'll sink. Ever watch haikyuu and want to play even though the ball has more of a chance hitting your face then your hands? All the most legendary sports manga have had that affect. 2. You wonder and question whether the shit they do in the manga or anime can even be done in real life. Can somebody be like midorima and really shoot from anywhere? Sometimes you question why high school students have the abilities of professional players. 3. Feels. Oh the feels. You never thought you would cry over a baseball game. But wow. Ace of diamond and haikyuu are great examples.
Discrimination Against Anime Fans.
We get called a lot. Anime fans get a lot of shit from other people about simply liking what they enjoy. But i feel like there are times when sometimes we forget that we can like this too to our own kind. I went to a couple screenings and a couple events where anime fans would gather and enjoy their fandoms. Great right? But there was this new girl. The new girl was pretty much a casual anime fan and she would always get looked down on by her choices. Just because sometimes they were either too mainstream or too weird like Yu Yu Hakusho for example. She gets a lot of shit for just being herself. We often get alienated because of what we like which is really stupid but to alienate a lot of people just for what they enjoy. You are just being as bad as them. So this is for every anime fan, girl or boy, or whatever, cat, dog, fkn fish. sloth. I hope you dont get judged for what you enjoy. And i will support your choices.
