My dad coming at me with the "this technology is extremely powerful and it's not going anywhere and so you mustn't reject it but you must learn to work with it" rhetoric about ai generated slop yesterday. Vile what a workspace full of techbros does to you.

Chatgpt produces bullshit that's deeply unpleasant to read and uncanny and the fact that you think what it spews is decent to use for articles and translations and stuff is beyond me.

Because it isn't actually better and it will never be. And I dread a future where music is trash and movies are all trash and all pictures are trash and all clothing is trash because everything has become a product that needs to be produced as cheaply and fastly as possible so that a soulless flesh bag can get a brief dopamine secretion watching the number go up because their dick no longer can.

"if it's bad people won't consume it so it will die out" that's a straight up lie.

As if ai wasn't bad enough it has become very personal for me.
