As stated on my other blogs, I’ll be dropping previous threads on my accounts and starting fresh (with the exception of replies to starters I owe!), so go ahead and give this a like for a starter of varying length from one Taichi Yagami! Cap @ 3! Previous interactions/castmates exempt!

“Wonderful!” He held a glass of wine in his hand, lifting it up high, lowering it down to face-height, twirling it around as he made motions with his other hand, before simply chugging it down.

“Ta-dah! The wine has disappeared and now it has reappeared inside my stomach, where most of it shall be digested into my bloodstream before it is cleaned out by my liver. My poor, poor liver. For my next trick, I shall make the wine in this bottle disappear.”

These tricks are much less spectacular than he’d first thought! What a ripoff! … Oh, wait; he hadn’t actually paid the guy a cent, so maybe Taichi couldn’t really think that. Still, the speed he used to down that drink is kinda impressive! He sort of wants to stick around to watch the grand finale, even, but-- “Hey, a whole bottle?! I’m no health guru, but that sounds like a fast track to the hospital, if I’m just eyeballing it! Hang on a minute!”

Looking at his extended hand, despite being covered in.. snickerdoodle, she’d awkwardly give it a quick, tiny shake just to avoid getting her own hands dirty before pulling away, giving them one last wipe just in case there were any crumbs. So apparently they weren’t Fiends or Servan but something called.. Digimon. Interesting..

“ I’ve never heard of such a thing. Although he resembles something in my world rather similarly, down to his personality. If I could bring them out, I’d show you, but.. “ Since the city was no under attack, she didn’t have her powers anymore. A shame really, but they weren’t needed at a dance of all things. 

“ No, this is the first one I’ve seen. Part of me doubts it’ll be my last so at least I can get used to seeing them. Interesting how closely he resembles something I’d know of.. how often does that happen..? “

“Well, the rest of these guys don’t necessarily look like Agumon here. There are all types of Digimon-- I’d almost say like a whole animal kingdom, but they don’t always look like creatures we’re used to! Or--” Taichi’s eyes narrowed over the girl-- her manner of speaking, the state of her dress, and even just her general appearance; wasn’t it all too different to assume she was from his world? Or even a world like his? Although, it wasn’t like everyone on Earth knew what Digimon were, anyway... “If you’ve got those, I mean. Anyway, they can even look like cogs and clocks, but they’re all made up of data! Hm... What’re your not-Digimon like?”

There’s two banquet tables here – one on each side of the hall, so to maximise the amount of food you’re gonna mooch off this place, you decided to just cut across the dance floor. Plain and simple.

You may also have trodden on a few dresses by doing so in your quest to become the ultimate mooch, but when someone bumps into you in turn, you’re quick to respond with an ‘ – oi! ‘.

Oh. You know this guy. And he knows you.

Shot down?! They shot him down?! A growl to rival Garurumon’s revs up from within his chest, and Taichi points at them with unmatched gusto. “What are you, scared?!” It’s a bit primary, but it’s the first thing that pops into his head and Taichi isn’t straining to work it any harder with his mind focused on the very possible prospect of revenge. “Do you know how long it took to be able to walk properly again?! Do you know-- DO YOU KNOW WHAT PEOPLE SAID ABOUT ME?!” If anything was ever said about his funny walk through those days, he definitely wasn’t aware of that, but he had to spice up his quest for vengeance somehow.

Haruka felt a blush settle on her cheeks and she shook her head before she patted his cheek. “I appreciate the concern my dear, but still,” she chuckled, sticking her tongue out at him before she gave his cheek a poke to get him to look at her.

She felt his heart accelerate under her touch, and to be honest hers was ringing in her ears just by being near him, but she kept her hand on his chest as her thumb gently stroked the shirt beneath it in a comforting gesture. “It’s alright, Taichi. I actually broke it off because I like someone else, y’know? Can’t go out with someone if there are feelings for another person, right? It’s not fair to either party.”

Okay, so, he was kind of overreacting-- but that didn’t mean he thought he was in the wrong. He had yet to meet a guy that could possibly even be an acceptable match up to someone like Haruka! Although, admittedly, that wasn’t something he thought about too often. It’d be weird. And, besides, if such a guy existed, he’d know right off the bat! Just like... Just like with his sister! Right! Right? Even if it sounded a bit off... Taichi’s mumbled threats cease, the silence prolonged as an eyebrow shot up at her reasoning. “Oh?” There was a weird twinge in his chest, right below the spot her hand was, but he acted contrary to it, instead opting to grin mischievously. “Alright, I guess that sounds fair... All along? Huh, and you never told me?!” The reason for that-- could it be-- “It’s gotta be one of the guys from the team!”

As soon as she finished her sentence, a Hawkmon wearing Miyako’s school uniform and a wig suspiciously similar to Hikari’s hairstyle appeared.

“A-ah…r-right, Miyako-san… Uhhh, w-we are running away to..to…”

- Mexico!

“MEXICO! I m-mean, we are running away to Mexico, Ta– onii-chan! F-Farewell!”

- See? We are happily married and Hikari-chan doesn’t need you anymore! See you never, Taichi-saaaan~

And with that, girl and digimon ran away as fast as they could from the older boy, hoping that he’d fall for their plans.

╰☆╮ Now she’s breathing, because honestly, have you ever buried your face in someone’s hair? That takes a lot of breath—not that Mirae needed it to survive, but it still feels uncomfortable. She’s looking up at him and tilting her head. He’s got that look in his eyes. The one that was given to her when her brother caught her doing something—like breaking something, Man, he had been so upset. Still, this is a different kind of look, in it’s own way. 

“Oh…right. Getting back. Direction, direction.” At least they’re close! The sound of music is more louder than before, you can hear the people laughing and…..Mirae looks over and from where she stands, she can see a few little creatures dancing with the people. “Over there.” She says, pointing then looking at Taichi. She won’t give him any time to speak and she’s wrapping small hand around his wrist and pulling him along. ONCE again.

Maybe he was too harsh? That’s what crosses his mind before she snaps back into focus-- but, well, the guilt doesn’t last horribly long when she hops back onto task without much more prompting or protest. Right? “Hey, would you look at that! You really got us back! Huh-- were those guys there befor--?!”

Impulsive! He thought he knew the type! But Taichi can see where they are now; isn’t her job done? “You’re way too diligent when you wanna be, aren’t you?!”  When they’re pretty much there, he pulls her to a stop, an exasperated grin plastered over his face through the panting. “We’re here, hey! Urk-- have you ever considered being on a soccer team? ...More importantly, what’s-- what’s your name?!”

     ﴾❇﴿—His answer to your question is not what you’re particularly looking for.

After all, you aren’t one to speak in riddles and something like this belongs in a young adult novel about whirlwind romances and five-minute existential crisis. Your nose scrunches up slightly at his vague response but you aren’t exactly an expert at withdrawing the kind of reply you want from other people.

A small sigh falls from your lips and you make a tiny noise of urgency when Taichi pushes the cup towards you, worried that it might spill on your rather white dress. Thankfully, no drops manage to find their way onto your dress and you quickly curl your fingers around the cup and squint slightly at the contents of it. Take a sip , he says and you wrinkle your nose further.

It’s like being coaxed into taking a sip from the devil’s cup.

After a momentary contemplation, you decide to go for it and take a small sip, swallowing it down quickly so you don’t taste much of the possibly spiked drink. You press back the cup into Taichi’s hand and regard him with a look, ❝Here, you can have it back. ❞

What the heck was that?! Taichi’s somehow taken back his cup and a peek into it tells him what was apparent, what with the speed of the drink’s return and all. “What’d you do, spit it back there?!”

Or, you know, maybe he’s had more than he remembers having and Yamaguchi’s actually downed more of it than he’s aware? Taichi knows of people like that, the ones that barrel through their alcohol for the buzz and less taste. Is this guy really like that?! Skeptical and confused, he tries for a different method of confirmation, a hand gesturing in aimless circles through the air. “Did you like it? What’d it taste like to you?”

“You do realize we both pick at each other’s food, right?” an amused smirk as he starts freaking out, but she ruffles his hair anyway at his compromise. “Fine, 79%. Though if it was up to me you’d have maybe an 85%”

Oh, yeah. When the heck had that routine started anyway?! “Guess that means you’re losing out on boyfriend material points, too, Haruka,” he tells her seriously, straight expression only muddled by the blinks he takes when his ruffled hair falls into his eyes. “Yeah, yeah, yeah, then I have to--” Huh? She raised him up? Taichi looks at her with suspicion, lifting two hands to gesture at her. “Why the bonus? What do you want? A shake?”

Biting the inside of her cheek, Yuuko took a deep breath and — 

— This guy just kept repeating himself? What was the point of it? Just to kick a ball? What’s so good about football anyways? It’s just running around a field with a —

She wouldn’t do it. She was not gonna do it. Just look at that face! There was no way she was gonna go for it! Should he give--

HUH?! The kick offset his balance and Taichi fell back on his butt with an, “Oomph!”. If the soft impact of grass wasn’t excuse enough to be dazed, the force of her kick definitely did it. Taichi blinked up at Yuuko blankly. And then-- “HUH?!”

Ah, are you a Captain? [a slight grin.] Tough job. Captain runs herd on all of us, you’d like him, probably. [If he doesn’t freak you out. Kurosaki and his… weird sense of humor. even in this city, Seidouzan would be strange, and that thought is a little comforting, making him smile some.]

Zaa Rocket…. [rolling his eyes up in thought.] That name, I don’t know. But– ah, training partners? Yeah. Not everybody plays soccer, but Aragami-kun knows it, and Red Alert trains with me, and he’s a robot, so like…. His stamina, you wouldn’t believe it. And Aragami-kun was a warrior, so his defense is honestly kind of awful to crack…. [when he talks about soccer, his speech seems to become more informal.] We should play too, you know?

“Of my own team, sure! I’m not sure how much that boasts, but I am proud of my guys. Heh-- someone like that sounds like a fun rival! Maybe--” Maybe they’d meet? Well, Taichi wouldn’t want to wish a friend of Io-kun’s dragged in, so he stops there, smiling wryly instead. The other’s drop in formality doesn’t go amiss. Yeah, of course it’s soccer that loosens him up! It’s enough to bring Tai’s honest grin back and his eyes light up with interest at the people being mentioned. They’re all in the city? “Red Alert, huh? I wanna get a load of that stamina! And breaking hearts, breaking defense-- tell this Aragami-kun that I’m there! Do you all gather at certain times?”

     “ … you’ve said that already. ”

What did he want them to do? Kick it out from his feet? Although it might be funny to see him fall, Yuuko wasn’t exactly the athletic type.

“This is the ball of kicking!” It seemed like she was starting to get it, so the third time would do the trick, right? Yeah! A+ communication skills! Take that, Coach!  His tapping relents and he leaves an opening, just in case--...!

“I think it’s time to let it go, Agumon.” Snickering through his snickerdoodle, Tai dropped the usual consoling pat to his partner’s head. “And she said ‘bipedal’! You know? It’s one of those words only someone like Izzy would use.” Attention back on the less-than-pleased-appearing girl, Tai looked from his bitten snickerdoodle back to her before extending it out in a halfhearted offer. “A Digimon! Short for Digital Monster. He’s my partner! We can’t do much right now, for some reason, but he still has his Pepperbreath attack.” He paused, curiosity glazing over dark eyes. “Seen many Digimon around here?”

╰☆╮Yes. She’s just petting Taichi. No, there’s no bugs. Sorry Taichi. Also, sorry because this blond girl is placing her face into his hair. She releases a content sound, because his hair for one has a nice scent to it and also because his hair is extremely soft. She’s using fingernails to gently scratch at the side of his head, like giving a massage. She’s already forgotten that she’s supposed to bring them both back to where the people are. “Soft…”

Did she get it? Did she get it? His concern is piling because there doesn’t seem to be any response from her-- due to unimaginable concentration?! Huh-- what’s this. She’s going in?!

“C’mon, I don’t think that’s nec--” What is she doing?! The scratching feels kinda nice... But, hey, wait a second!!! “Oi, oi, oi, oi!”  He brings his hands to her shoulders, effectively pushing her out and away from his hair, breathing exasperation with every heave. His hands remain fastened to her shoulders, and he looks at her really sternly, face only a little flushed. Just what was he dealing with here?! “Look, I appreciate the gesture, but... We gotta get back!”
