Lauren: “And we’re working in animation. Our schedule is so far in advance for that–even if people shipped Keith and Lance, we couldn’t go back and just change the story–to be like and now they’re in love!”

My headcanon is that Curtis has been casually crushing on Shiro since Before Adam, to the point where he can just sort of ignore it because, yeah, sure, Shiro is hot (and nice, and funny, and hot), grass is green, whatever, so when Shiro asks him out roughly 12 seconds after getting discharged, Curtis is just like, sure, let’s go out tonight. Because he thinks it’s a bridge crew thing, not a date thing, because that would be like… actually winning the lottery or something. When does that ever happen.

Spoiler alert: it happens. Curtis wasn’t even aware he had a chance so he just shows up in sweatpants, expecting to hang out with his coworkers for a drink or two, not… whatever this surreal shit is where it’s just Shiro alone and looking unnecessarily attractive in a leather jacket, like what even is happening.

So their first date is not a complete disaster, but it does take Curtis about an hour to finally confirm that it is indeed a date, and not some misguided attempt at male bonding or a hidden camera prank. For the record, they’re both a bit out of practice.

Oh, also, can people stop spreading that bs that “Tim Hedrick wanted Shallura and Klance to be canon, but didn’t get to make that happen”? There’s literally no proof of it, besides for klantis on Twitter claiming it was ~a hidden secret~. They even claim that they aged Allura down after deciding against Shallura, which is really ridiculous. It’s just nonsense without proof and I can’t take anyone who brings it up seriously.

I just saw the Shiro wedding edited to be a shallura wedding. A fucking shallura wedding. I wanted to stay out discourse but this is too much. The homophobia of this fandom is out of control. And not only did that atrocity have almost 3k, it also had a lot of comments saying that it was better than the actual gay wedding we got.

I was already disappointed with the fandom after the s8 salt, but this was the last drop.
