Suddenly, a laugh comes from somewhere in his chest.     “ But - that’s irrelevant!! What were we talking about again?? ”

The green-haired boy simply put a hand over his mouth as he heard the other speak. Interesting words of what seemed to be wisdom... There was something in his tone that contradicted his statement once he’d finished speaking. Was it truly irrelevant?

“I do believe we were talking about this school, Komaeda-kun. Seems ya may have gone on a bit of a tangent. We’re alike in that regard. Hmm. Tell me, do you personally have bad thoughts often? I myself do, but not related to this school of course.”

Upon stepping into the dining hall, the pleasant scent of tea became apparent to Shuichi before he noticed the person sitting and drinking it by himself. “Hello, Amami-kun,” he announces his presence politely. He still doesn’t know what to make of the other; he’s a hard person to read and Shuichi isn’t sure he has the fortitude to unravel whatever mask he’s wearing. “What kind of tea are you drinking? I came in to make some myself, actually. I find it’s calming when one is nervous… actually.” An embarrassed laugh escapes his lips – he’s always nervous, after all.

“’Ey. Morning Saihara-kun. Didn’t think I’d get company today.” Amami greeted his male companion with a curt wave before excusing himself for another sip of tea. “Actually, it’s green. Little bit ironic, huh. Heh, ya got me at a pretty bad time I guess.” 

Putting one leg over the other, Amami turned slightly to better address Saihara. While he didn’t trust Saihara just yet, Amami felt as though the detective had something inside of him that was quite calming, and on top of that, in his opinion, Saihara was simply easier to read than some of the other people around here. “There’s still some left if you’re alright with it. Otherwise, I’ll gladly keep ya company while you’re here. Could be some useful moments together, hmm? Maybe get our heads around this situation.”

“Wonder if anybody heard the smoke detector this mornin’. Pretty hard to miss at four in the morning. Is this a usual occurrence ‘round here or what?”

“I don’t think this MonoMachine is supposed to be handing out slices of cake. Seems kinda outta place, all things considered. Well, guess I’ve got enough slices for an entire cake. If anybody wants some, I’ll probably share. Just gotta ask kindly.”

Grey eyes narrow at the blond as a frown tugged the corners of his mouth downward. "She keeps singling me out any time I pass by her, is what I mean, Amami-kun."

“I’m sure that’s not true. She’s harmless... Actually, she probably couldn’t hurt any of us if she wanted to. Saihara-kun, I’m surprised that you’re afraid of a little pink bunny. You’re lucky I’m not the type to make fun.”

“Ah, so that’s your way of askin’, huh. Well, certainly could’ve fooled me. Y’know, this is probably why-” Amami stopped himself from replying the way he had originally planned. It wasn’t worth snapping at him.

“If you must know, yes. I think someone in your class was messin’ around with it. Wanna take a guess at what they looked like?”

Her eyes glanced back at the guy, Hilda never saw him before. Still, his words gained her attention. “Oh this?” She held up the bracelet that she wore around her wrist. “Sure go ahead.” As she handed it to him.

“Thanks, I assure you it’ll come back in the same condition it was taken from you.” A steady hand reached out to grab the bracelet. Fingers brushed the material as softly as possible for the adventurer to examine the piece of jewelry. “Amazing, really... Tell me, does it hold any sentimental value?”

“Perhaps it’s just all part of my game, Kuzuryuu-kun. It’s always fun to see how much I can get away with when it comes to academics. Truth be told, I didn’t actually read that last book. Still managed to score pretty high. Would you call that luck, or sheer intelligence?”
