āYou can outrun Cancer Manigoldo?! Youāre⦠kind of scary! Do you steal souls and faces too?āĀ That was even the same look that Manigoldo had in his eyes a lot!
It takes a moment for the shock to wear off, much too long for him to pretend that that hadnāt shaken him up at all.Ā āI-is that a threat? What are you going to do? I-Iām not scared of you! Iām still not supposed to let you run around h-however you want to!ā
āNah, donāt be silly. Itās as almost anything, is about outsmarting and thatās something I know how to do.ā She answered. She wouldnāt be able to outrun a gold saint, of course not, she had seen them move. But outsmarting was something she had done once or twice.
āAnd no, itās not. What I meant was..ā And there she was, off running a fast as she could and entering the first corner to break his line of sight.
That was even the same look that Manigoldo had in his eyes a lot!
livewithstrength:
āYou actually want to find Manigoldo?Ā Uh..!āĀ Saro was terrified of Manigoldo, he was one of the meaner saints here. He had to run that through his mind again.Ā āYou want to find ManigoldoĀ ācause you stole his coins?ā
āAre you really sure! Even if youāre just trying to do the right thing! Manigoldo could really steal your soul! Maybe even your face! I donāt know what he could do!ā
āThat old man would have to catch me first.ā He had done already once but that was a minor detail. But Gioca doubted Manigoldo would try to hurt her if she was found around there, but who really knew? She was almost certain that Albafica wouldnāt, for example.
āBesides, he made me a promice and I want to know if heās in or not.ā She added.Ā āSo, you will you let me go find him or not?ā Not that aĀ ānoā would stop her.
PotC: The Curse of the Black PearlĀ {Sentence Starters}
āYou cheated!ā
āVery well. Iāll drop it.ā
āYes it is, Iāve seen it.ā
āI recognize this ship!ā
āWhy is the rum gone?ā
āYou know nothing of hell.ā
āIām in the market, as it were.ā
āYouāre supposed to be dead!ā
āNo! Not good! Stop! Not good!ā
āStop blowing holes in my ship!ā
āThis dock is off-limits to civilians.ā
āI told you he was telling the truth.ā
āPirate or not, this man saved my life.ā
āThis is either madness⦠or brilliance.ā
āWeāre going to steal a ship? That ship?ā
āI didnāt steal it, if thatās what you mean.ā
āNot all treasure is silver and gold, mate.ā
āI want you to leave and never come back.ā
āYouāve only got one shot, and we canāt die.ā
āSo, this is where your heart truly lies, then?ā
āThatās got to be the best pirate Iāve ever seen.ā
āA wedding? I love weddings! Drinks all around!ā
āNo. I cannot just step aside and let you escape.ā
āEveryone, stay calm, weāre taking over the ship!ā
āThatās why thereās no sense to be killing you, yet.ā
āThatās not true⦠I am not obsessed with treasure.ā
āPut it away, son. Itās not worth you getting beat again.ā
āGood man, good pirate. I swear you look just like him.ā
āYou best start believing in ghost stories. Youāre in one!ā
āIām disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means ānoā.ā
āIf you were waiting for the opportune moment, that was it.ā
āLower your weapons. For goodness sake, put them down.ā
āYou are, without a doubt, the worst pirate Iāve ever heard of.ā
āWell, thatās not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?ā
āIt would never have worked out between us, darling. Iām sorry.ā
āI want you to know that I was rooting for you, mate. Know that.ā
āThe code is more what youād call āguidelinesā than actual rules.ā
āNo survivors? Then, where do the stories come from, I wonder?ā
āI am here to negotiate the cessation of hostilities against _____.ā
āSo, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?ā
āI practice three hours a days so, when I meet a pirate, I can kill it.ā
āBut pirate is in your blood, so youāll have to square with that some day.ā
āDo you really think there is even the slightest chance they wonāt see it?ā
āI thought I had you figured. But, it turns out youāre a hard man to predict.ā
āFine. Well, I suppose if it is worthless then thereās no point in me keeping it.ā
āOne good deed is not enough to save a man from a lifetime of wickedness.ā
āWe are not among the living, and so we cannot die. But, neither are we dead!ā
āYou didnāt beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement! In a fair fight, Iād kill you!ā
āBorrowed⦠borrowed without permission, but with every intention of bringing it back.ā
āAnd how does a maid come to own a trinket such as that? Family heirloom, perhaps?ā
āThe only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man canāt do.ā
āDo you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?ā
āFor too long, Iāve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long Iāve been starving to death and havenāt died.ā
āThatās what a ship is, you know. Itās not just a keel, and a hull, and a deck, and sails, thatās what a ship needs but what a ship is⦠is freedom.ā
āMe, Iām dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. I mean honestly, itās the honest ones you have to watch out for.ā
Headcanon Time
Alright Iām to touch a kind of dark subject so bear with me for a moment ok? Also going to be a very important headcanon.
She was intrusted to a couple of fisherman who happened to be in Death Queen Isle when the attack happened and later brough to Venice by the family of one of those fisherman, since they had family there. Once in the town, Gioca was named and not soon after sent to an orphanage.Ā
After a few years there, she finally ran away since she wasnāt treated well due to her constant mischeif and pranks, prefering to live in the streets than to stand another minute in that place. She decided to desguise herself as a boy after seeing a girl that also lived in the streets be abused and it wasnāt soon after that she was found and recruited to Neroās little gang of theives.
Gioca spent years with them, slowly learning how to do what was asked of her until her hands were light enough to pickpocket almost anyone. A couple years after going to Nero, she met with Tonto being sold in the black market and rescued him, keeping him as his best friend and partner in crime.
She was friends with a fewof the boys in the group, telling only the closest ones about her secret.
After Nero was taken down and she and the other boys were free to do what they wanted, they found an abandonet building to call their homes (some actually went to an orphanage to try better luck at life with a descent family). They now live stealing only whatās necessary since they are not old enough to work and live their lives with dignity.
Gioca earns a bit of money by helping out eventually other people, being rewarded by a good deed.

āI-itās a big problem!Ā Thatās why there are rules! El Cid isnāt just strong, heās mean! He can probably cut a mountain in half with his bare hand!ā Saro ran in front of her and held out his arms so she wouldnāt pass him. Not that he was large enough to actually block anyoneās path.
āHeās really, really, really scary. And there are more dangerous things, too. Like falling rocks! And Manigoldo, heās scary too! He would even beat up a kid if he wanted to!ā
āNah, he wouldnāt. He could but he wouldnāt.ā Gioca replied. After all, he hadnāt beaten her up when they had their little adventure in Venice and he had more than enough opportunities and reasons to.Ā
āActually heās the guy Iām looking for. I kind of forgot to give back his coin purse.ā She added. And for the first time, his money was actually there! Her number one rule was that she didnāt steal from friends after all.
I got myself sad. I just remembered that Manigoldo will never get to keep his promise.
So I want to do a thing for our beautiful TLC children but iām not familiar with all the characters... who wants to help a gal out?
livewithstrength:
āUmā¦!ā Saro let them go and took a step back. That was a really sharp glare.Ā āR-really! Thatās the rule! If someone like El Cid sees you breaking the rules here, he might take your head off! No, he will, he seriously will!ā
āYouāre looking for somebody? All by yourself?ā He could relate to that. He came all the way here chasing Aldebaran.Ā āM-maybe I can help you so you can be in and out faster and no one has to be beheaded for rule breaking.ā
She fixed the heat on her head before thinking if she was going to answer that boy or not. There was a change of running away there and she was more than sure that she would be able to keep u her pace and lose the boy in that mase of old stuff. But at the same time, she could also use him to get where she wanted.
āGot any problem with that?ā Gioca asked, arching an eyebrow. Since she was more than used to take care of herself, to be suggest that she should have any help was almost offencive.Ā āAnd what if I am? This El Cid guy doesnāt even sound that scary, I know a guy that can shatter walls with a flower.ā
pefkooyra:
The young healer came along. Pefko was never very graceful, but he was small, so he did his best to fit behind Gioca into the alleyways and back streets. He must live a long way from where Pefko was delivering medicine to.
āIĀ still have lots of things for fevers and coughs. Especially if itās a cold! I probably donāt look it, but Iām really good at this stuff, since I learned from the best.ā That was his attempt at small talk.
She listened to what he was saying but didnāt really pay attention, worried about her friend. Could a boy she didnāt even know help out? Even if he claimed to know what to do, she couldnāt really be sure.
Soon they arrived to a building in the outskirts of Venice, located by the canal and seemed to be abandoned.Ā āAlright Pefko, was it? We are here. Try not to get too indimidated.ā Gioca said before going inside.Ā āHEY MARCO, PIETRO! Iām back! And I brought someone that can help Maria!ā

@talentedthiief liked this post for a short starter !
āUm, hey! You there, umā¦!ā Saro grabbed the stranger by the wrist.
āC-civilians arenāt supposed to wander around here! Did you comeĀ ācause you need help?Ā āCause this isnāt the way to the Popeās chambers. Youāre going to get in trouble if someone sees you way out here!ā
Gioca stopped at the wordĀ ācivilianā. She was one, of course, but one that was more than used to go where she wanted most of the time. Of course Gioca wasnāt expecting to be discorved so quickly but then again... she was in the place where that Fish Saint had come from.
She turned around, arching an eyebrow.Ā āReeeeeeaaaally? Too bad kid. Iām looking for someone and Iām not stopping until I find him.ā
