Just to say that I'm not using this account anymore.

Seems I only come here these days if I have a new obsession... So here I am telling everyone to go watch I Feel You Linger in the Air. Right now! (Trailer here.) It's a Thai, queer themed, historical time travel drama - and what more do you need to know?

It's about Jom, who ends up in an accident after a bad break up, and finds himself in 1927. There he meets Yai, the one he's fated to love across time and life times. But in 1927, being gay isn't exactly easy...

It's based on a book that I haven't read, and episode 8 out of 12 has just been aired. So I'm not sure where it's all going. But I know that it's gorgeous and wonderfully romantic (in that lovely traditional sense, where it's dramatic, and love is all about strong emotions and true love and tragedy and you can't live without them etc). For me, this is a wonderful development of the BL-genre, where you make your traditional drama but have the main lovers be gay. And where their story takes place in a bigger context, and is not just focused on them. Here it's also about the considerable difference between living in 2023 and in 1927, as a gay man or woman.

I'm also in love with the two leads, Bright and Nonkul - the chemistry between them and their characters is intense. And in ep 8, they performed the loveliest love scene I've seen in a long time. So sensual and intimate it feels like I'm spying on them.

It’s hilarious that these two are in such complete understanding of the fear of people they percieve as cool. But it’s also sad to decide beforehand what other people will think of you, just because it’s how you think of yourself. Prejudice against both yourself and the “cool street dancers”. Just like Adachi had all these notions about Kurosawa, before he knew his inner thoughts. Based on Kurosawa’s “coolness”, Adachi prescribed him feelings and thoughts. 

Little did he know, that Kurosawa is actually completely uncool when it comes to some things. Like writing poems.

I think when Kurosawa thinks about how he would try to please Adachi if he could read his thoughts, Adachi realises that he can do that too! That he really HAS the tool to make Kurosawa’s dreams come true. (He’s afraid of some of those dreams, still, though...)

I think Adachi, with his insecurities and anxieties, have turned so much into himself that he’s become unaware that he has an effect on people. A kind of selfishness where you can’t see that anything you do matter. But now that he’s coming out of his shell, he can interact with the coolest guy he knows, and realise that he, Adachi, has HUGE effect on Kurosawa. That his words and actions make Kurosawa go weak in the knees. And that Kurosawa thinks that Adachi is cool. Soon Adachi can think of himself that way too.

Why are they so adorable? Jeez.

Seems to me Akaso-san is still in Adachi-mode here, he looks so infinitely shy the way his fingers are nervously fidgeting and the way he’s crouching. And looking at Machida-san like he’s just in awe of his handsome co-star. And I love how Machida-san just can’t stop smiling. Such darlings.

Adachi being flustered and then so very concerned about Kurosawa being jealous... Adachi is clearly the cutest boy ever. And he’s making such progress! From completely nerve-racked to happily walking hand-in-hand. Kurosawa, you are the best! Several years of study paid off.

I’m obsessing a little over their complete preciousness. 

I hope some kind soul will sub this. Even if I do enjoy just watching them too...

Cherry Magic IG Live (Brief) translation

I wrote this while they were talking from topic to topic so bear with me :’)

A - Akaso Eiji-san

M - Machida Keita-san 

Q1: What is the most memorable scene/dialogue?

A: ‘I didn’t hate it…your kiss’ scene.  A: I accidentally said ‘Omae’ (Both A & M laugh about it)

M: The confession scene from Kurosawa was my no.1 pick (This is the only scene where I said 'Omae’ a casual yet deep expression). I have had careful discussions with the crew about it. M: Another one would be…the mole scene. A: (LOL) That was a very memorable scene. M: I think I said mole during the 20 takes of the bottle falling. …. (Missing bits) A: Takoyaki was amazing (The dinner scene of Rokkaku, Kurosawa and Adachi)

Q2: Are the characters similar to you in real life?

A: Maybe the part where I eat convenient store food. M: Oh yeah.

M: How am I similar to my character…?

M: I toss my bag aside (LOL) 

A: You tripped over the bag.

M: Oh yeah, there was that scene. 

It’s almost time

M: Oh yeah

A: Well, there have been many memorable scenes. 

M: There really was. I felt a lot of pressure.

A: A fun and special scene was between Adachi, Tsuge and Kurosawa.

M: It was so interesting. I hope you all enjoy those scenes. Adachi shows so much kindness towards Tsuge. Which makes me like the scene. 

A: Oh, thank you very much.

Episode 8 seems to be about Kurosawa being deliriously happy. As he should be!

I love this connection with Adachi’s “oh” in episode 7 with the first times we see them exchange words in ep 1.  It seems "oh” is his go-to word when Kurosawa is paying him attention. All words disappear from his mind. Blinded by that dazzling smile? Determined it’s of no consequence.

These little “oh”s mean a lot more in Japanese than in English, and this “oh” seems to mean “OK, but are you sure you want to talk to me?” and the one in ep 7 is more like “OK! yes! please never let me go!”. I bet Kurosawa has studied Adachi long enough to know the difference.

Adachi is very eloquent... Kurosawa pours his heart out with serious statements, but it seems Adachi ran out of words with his confession. I love Kurosawa’s reaction, amused and happy. It’s very typically Adachi, after all.

Kurosawa’s fantasy about his and Adachi’s “sweet life” is just so beautiful and bittersweet. Particularly knowing how long he’s had to think about this, it’s really no wonder he created such vivid images in his head. I love these little clips, this little insight into Kurosawa’s deepest longing. 

Apparently, it’s all about being domestic. And Adachi is a sweet little bunny rabbit in his fantasy, happy, fluffy and soft.
