Hey all! I am not dead! I have just been very tumblr absent. But I just couldn’t help myself not to share these amazing photos taken of my skyrim daedric armour! It was the first time having a proper photoshoot and all of the photos are just amazing.
And even though I am absent here I still create a lot of stuff, from costumes to leatherwork, for more frequent updates visit my Facebook or Deviantart.

I just finished some leatherwork pieces, and am currently working on building a daedric axe to go with the armour.
So happy that this project is finally done. When this was started back in September, I could not have imagined that it would turn out this awesome. Learned so much by making this. Can't wait to walk around in it at castlefest (4-6 Aug, NL) If there are any questions about how this was made, feel free to ask! The daedric armour is almost done, on to costume two: Miraak!. The mask is now fully built from paper, it was made with a pepakura model whch can be found somewhere in this thread:https://www.405th.com/forums/threads/skyrim-pepakura-files.32416/ (There are a lot of other skyrim pepakura models in there too) Next up, buying some epoxy to harden this mask.
The big sushis got a little brother! It is a lot smaller, but got the same details, and a cute smiling face :). This particular one has an eel topping, but I'll be making others with many other toppings as well!
Finally, with the boots/shinguards fully painted the big building parts of the armour are done! This picture was taken the first time I tried them on which was this afternoon and luckily they walk quite nicely. It is a bit of a hassle to get them on, but doable. Hopefully it will still be comfortable after a few hours. Next up, the front and back flaps, for which I ordered the fabric this afternoon. Then still have to attach everything together and add LED's. Slowly but surely we are getting there!
The first eeveelution pouch is finally done! It is the first I made from this pattern, and there are definitely some points to improve on, but for a first I’m happy with it. Most of it was done on stream, but I finished it offstream as I needed the time to figure out some things which didn’t work out well on stream. I hope to make the next ones fully onstream ;)

Would anyone like some egg sushi? This one measures about 30 by 25 cm, so it is more like a pillow instead of a plushie, so even more cuddly! I love this pattern which I bought from Sew Desu Ne?. More sushi's with different faces and different topping will follow! Someone on stream suggested I should call them splushies XD
The past few weeks have been very busy with internship, work and other activities, so I had less time to work on the armour than I had hoped. But, the shoes and shinguard are finally almost done. What remains now is a spike at the back, clasps at the back and some details. When this is all done, the big building parts are all finished, then everything still has to be attached together so it can be worn, some things still need to be added, underclothing needs to be made and the LEDs have to be installed. Luckily I still got until the summer holidays to finish this. Until half May I will also be working on some props for a LARP which means I cannot show work-in-progress or any other photos of it until the LARP is over. And for another LARP in May I have to make a full costume (faun yay!).
I have also decided to start streaming on twitch, I'll either be working on this armour or doing some sewing work on stream. So far I do not yet have a schedule but expect me to be online on Friday evenings (UTC+1 timezone), and maybe one or two other times a week. I can be found here: www.twitch.tv/talkenia

Hide Shortpile Fur Seams Better: Intentional Trapping Technique.
This is a special sewing technique best used on Seal, Beaver, and other SHORTPILE types of faux fur. It is a way to hide seams in fur that is easy to brush out of a seam, but suffers from that little visible seamline that longpile furs don’t get when sewn traditionally (with the fibers tucked away from the seam).
The concept of this technique shown is you intentionally trap the fur in the seam when pinning/clipping together the fabric. Sew it with a long straight stitch, and then brush it out at the backing. The whole trick to it is you WANT to be able to brush it out, so only the fur brushed out will be involved in your exposed seam line.
To brush it out you can use a comb, slicker brush, pin, or even the fingertip brush that I use in the video.
This way there is no chance for a different level of fur to be stuck within the seam and it is hidden better as a result of this effort. You can still use traditional techniques with the trapped technique to make lines between toes or other intentional design elements.
The traditional way of tucking the fur into seam still works for longpile fur, this technique is JUST for short pile furs.

Haven't even finished one costume and already starting with another.... But this one will be build with pepakura and then probably strengthened with resin. hint: It is also from skyrim ;)
Today, I painted my nails ;) And... the rest of my hands. One step closer to my daedric armour being fully painted!
Another part of the armour is done! There is a lot of detail on these pieces that is hard to get right on camera (especially since I only have a phone), but I hope you can see some of it. The top one is my right bracer, the bottom one goes on my left arm. This means the spikes will be over my elbows and (hopefully) I don't poke myself with them. The characters on the elbows were supposed to be raised, but it was really difficult to cut so many tiny worbla pieces accurately, so instead I grabbed a soldering iron and engraved them.
I got the pictures on my pc to upload now instead of through mobile.
The helmet is done! The torso and the underarms still need the details. The further I get into this build the more I’m starting to love it. The armour is so spiky! :)

Right now I have built almost everything, I am currently building the upper leg plates and the shoes still need to be done. All the other parts already have a basecoat of paint and I am currently weathering them.
