My ribbit headcanonss!!. Basically a character I made up based off the 5 expressions we got on their character sheet and the. like. 2 seconds of footage we have of them. Also this is really self indulgent!!

Ribbit was well liked in the circus, and could be pretty charismatic.
To me, the only character whom would not get along a lot with others in Kaufmos, Ribbits and Jaxs group is Jaxs. I think he used to still be a prankster and kind of annoying pre Ribbits abstraction.
As we can see from Kaufmos abstraction and subsoquent funeral - He was rather well liked aswell, having ties to everybody in the circus. I believe Ribbit did aswell.
My reasons for this are the fact that she is actually friends with Jax despite seeming somewhat empathetic and pretty chill- probably similar to how Pomni is. Jax had to reach out to Pomni for them to become friends, but I believe Ribbit would have reached out to Jax and Kaufmo. Aswell with everybody else in the circus.
Ribbit did not abstract because of Jax.
I don't think it makes sense that, unlike some fan representations of her, that she would abstract because of a comment or fight with Jax. Firstly, because Jax seemed to find her sacred to some extent- I don't think that he would say anything *really* terrible to her to set her off and if it did, it would have just been the last straw from a myriad of other reasons.
Also, in my opinion based on feeling she would probably be much tougher than that.
She's portrayed in her character sheet and also the picture with Jax with a slightly joking, coy expression and also not one single expression which portrays her affected by the circus- there is no panicked expression, no crying, not even irritated. I believe she either supresses emotions, or- (because goose said "Ribbits not really like any other character in the circus)That if, like I anticipate, she is charismatic-
she might build emotional responses from the emotions or tones of others. She might have also been impulsive because of her animal avatar, and so, her empty or depressive emotions could be when she's alone with no distractions from other people.
Also, going out on a whim here, I feel like she could have had problems before the circus- like everybody ofcourse- but abstracting when you have a stable group of friends and never show an incling of sadness or anger to anyone is. Yeah. (Side note: She may not value Jax as much as Jax valued her, or by the end her emptyness might have caused her to become irritated with people close to her- "Do you know how people are before they abstract? They are not fun to be around." --> I think kaufmo was more agressive when he was about to abstract, I think ribbit was more avoidant when she was about to abstract.)
Ribbit was maybe morally grey
I don't think she was a bad person or anything, she was empathetic I think and did open up to Jax as in the episode 9 trailer- though maybe. She went through periods of being extremely empathetic and other times quite judgemental of people for their emotions or otherwise. (?)
Ribbit will NYAT be that important probably
Yes, Jax was close to her, but the only thing she did which really affects the plot is her being friends with Jax and her abstracting.
Since Ribbit's abstraction carries a more emotional weight, it seems to be assumed that her abstraction was of a personal matter rather than Kaufmo's which was more plot relevent.
The most we are getting is like a flashback scene and it looks very reflective so she probably won't show a lot of personality except maybe being a bit snarky in a response or something.
And then we might get a look at her abstraction but like.. through the lens of Jax. Which is "oh no she abstracted cuz of me I hate myself" and that maybe wouldn't show the whole truth.
Atleast I hope its not cuz then my whole epic character theory would be false.
