Hi!!! This is my intro post because I saw other people put intro posts on their blogs, and I'm a follower, not a leader.

I'm very into DOOM, if you couldn't tell by the ongoing theme of my account. Typically, if someone follows me, I follow them back.

I would LOOVVEE if you used the question box thing on my account. Even if its dumb questions! I like to be entertained. I just have..a FEW rules before you interact with me. Or ANY of my posts.

Do not make any weird sexual jokes. You can speak to me romantically to an EXTENT..Although why would you even wanna do that (??) you know what, please just don’t talk to me romantically at all 🤦

Please no politics. I don't think this account will be popular enough to the point that people would start asking about politics, but Tumblr (or any blogging site) is my way of escaping the real world.

Obviously, if you're on Tumblr, you're 13 and up. This isn't really a rule, but please don't even bother finishing this introduction if, by chance, you're under 13.

I like RDR 2 (and 1), DMC, Dead Space, Monkey Ball 3D (very random, yes), or just Sci Fi in general. It's really hard for me to stray away from things NOT Sci-fi.

Doom 2016 appreciation :)

YES..this is a glaze post.

I can't speak for other people who were there for the first Doom 1993 game, but I can speak for myself when I say that Doom 2016 is such an important game for both me and the fandom.

If I were able to go back in time to play Doom 2016 for the first time, I would love to do so. There is just something about Doom 2016 that has an amazing beauty to it. You can tell that the game developers took the Doom revival seriously.

In the intro, it's about going into the elevator and listening to Dr. Samuel Hayden talk, then seeing Doom Slayer punching the elevator screen, and it immediately cuts to the Doom title with such beautiful music. If it weren't for the beauty of Doom 2016, I wouldn't have gotten into shooter games. The first EVER first person shooter game I have ever played was Doom 2016. This game has reminded me that there is a certain effort and art that goes into any video game. It's supposed to let the player be immersed.

I can't ever put my finger on it, but I get a feeling similar to nostalgia when I think about Doom 2016. I feel it in my heart: a sense of warmth and pride in being part of the fandom. This game has seen me happy, angry, and sad. When I lost to a demon or a boss fight, it somehow made me want to come back and do more. Like the actual line, "rip and tear until it is done," truly echoed in my head.

I always find myself replaying the demo over and over again just to get the feeling of my admiration when I first played this game

It's hard to put into words how special this game is to me, so this is the best I can do. Thank you for listening (or reading, in this case) :))

Doom Slayer x Isabelle

A blog from someone inspired me to talk about this pretty popular ship, which is Doom Slayer x Isabelle.

I'M SORRY, DON'T HURT ME !! I think they're better off as friends, and I'm not hating on anyone who loves this ship. It's your life, bro. In my humble opinion, though, I think it doesn't align with Doom Slayer's personality. After losing Daisy, I don't think it's in his best interest to marry a dog. It's hilarious as a meme! Until the ship's defenders start coming after you. I've seen multiple cases of toxic fans attacking other people for not agreeing with this ship, and it has never failed to astonish me, because at the end of the day, when you're lying down wherever you sleep, was it ever even that deep?

Doom Slayer as an animal ?

I've been thinking about this for a bit because I would wanna draw him as an Animal Crossing villager.

I'm praying this post reaches people and they comment, lolol. As you read the title, what animal would the Doom Slayer be?? I was searching it up to see if anybody had anything to say about it, and some people on Reddit said that he would be a Honey Badger. I think it's actually pretty accurate. Originally, I thought he would be a bunny (very ironic, I know), and in concept it's cute, but I'm not 100%.

The Doom Slayer is a fearless hero who fights for justice. Stoic, but not uncaring. A bit of a silly, nerdy side that not many people pay attention to. I think that the honey badger would be a nice animal because they're known to be fearless and fierce, despite their size. For bunnies, I think their personality can vary. They're known to be generous and polite. I think both align with Doom Slayer in their own way. I'm posting this to get more thoughts and opinions. pls write your answer in the comments !!

I searched for Doomslayer on TikTok to see if they had any good edits, only to proceed to get pissed off by the comment sections. Two of the major things I read were:

1. People claiming that it is canon that Flynn is married to isabelle from animal crossing (who is an actual DOG mind you)

2. Flynn looks different in TDA because he’s younger than he is in Eternal.

First of all, Doomslayer x Isabelle is a stupid meme from 2020 that a lot of people latched onto for some reason. It is not and has never been canon. Second of all, Flynn doesn’t age! The divinity machine made him immortal. While he can be hurt and killed, (he obviously would never stay dead) he never ages, gets sick, or will die from natural causes. He looks different because it’s a new game made YEARS after the last one, with a (imho) much better face model.

People just constantly be loud and wrong 🙄

phonk..edits..

Maybe I'm just closed-minded or something, but I don't like phonk edits of Doom Slayer. Like at all.

I feel like they don't fit him. When people edit him to actual rock or metal songs, they fit him way better. Maybe because phonk edits remind me of people who only label themselves as DOOM fans without actually researching DOOM. Either way, in my opinion, I feel like his cutscenes are too valuable and important to be edited to phonk. I'm only saying this because my FYP ONLY contains Doom Slayer being edited to phonk. I usually have to go out of my own way to find edits with other music. Maybe I'm just picky with the way people edit him. Before anyone, for some reason, comments "well then make your own". . . leave me alone >:(

Of course, I'm not saying ANY edits are bad!! Any phonk editors who have, by chance, edited Doom Slayer to phonk, the edits are not bad!! Actually, the edits are super duper cool. I just don't like phonk to Doom Slayer that much.

I really like to go through cutscenes to read the Doom Slayer’s body language. It’s the only way I can see his brain processing. (Also really why I love helmetless mods)

It’s the small things that count for me. Especially because hes a silent protagonist, so reading him through body language is super important to me. I also LOVE his man cave in the Fortress of Doom, because it shows a glimpse of his personality. I really hate it when people only characterize him as a big ball of rage with no brain. HES SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!!!! It’s like majority of his fans like the idea of an angry character, but they don’t like the complexities and the emotional baggage it carries. He means so much to me :((

I feel like it's important that in the lore of Doom, demons aren't the prisoners of Hell, they're its wardens. They're job is to inflict suffering on the souls of the people sent to Hell because Hell and its denizens draw their power from that suffering. The Slayer doesn't wage neverending war on Hell out of some desire to punish sinners, it's actually kind of the exact opposite. He's outraged by the entire concept of there being a Hell, he's incensed by the injustice of inflicting eternal damnation on people.

That's why I hate all those "Doom is a catholic game" LARPers. The whole point is the entire theological system of binary moral judgementalism where the "impure" deserve to suffer is bullshit. The plot of Doom Eternal is that the actual biblical Armageddon has arrived and the in universe stand in for the Heavenly Host are all like "look we don't exactly enjoy the mass slaughter of the human race but that's the just the way it is, I mean, there needs to be a Hell or else how will we reinforce our own authority?" to which the Doom Slayer responds "well then fuck you too," kicks their asses and cancels the apocalypse.

Not at all. I love how his nose looks, especially in Dark Ages. It's very pronounced.

Because I've been #noticing it in the fandom lately:

He's not ugly in Eternal, you're just mean. And you know how fucking tired he is by Eternal? Give the guy a fucking break he doesn't meet your beauty "standards" or whatever. I mean he's still old in the Dark Ages since like he was fighting in Hell for like thousands of years beforehand but in Eternal he's even older than that. He's old. God forbid he looks old when he's old (and still he doesn't even look that old but still, older)

Meanwhile I'm a Doom Guy true kisser no matter what. He's still pretty I'm sorry some you guys can't see that 🫶

I think my favorite cutscene in Doom the Dark Ages is when Doom Slayer gets revived and starts rising up in blood. I love how the blood is dripping off of him, and I feel like the way he rose up from the blood was really intimidating. I love when editors use that scene 😍😍😍
