It means we’ll need to be careful. Lockdown in the apartments preferably, since the park is way too public. i think knowing who they are and what kinds of weapons they have is a decent place to start. Can’t hurt to be prepared.
“That’s not going to be fun. I’ve been inside for full moons, but I’ve never been alone before. How’re we going to find out what weapons they’ve got, it’s not like we can just go and ask them.”
“Ouch.” Fiona grimaced as she saw the person not only trip, but slam so hard onto the ground their arm apparently broke. Which, to be fair, wasn’t the worst she’d ever seen. Her sister had just done the same thing right before Fiona wound up here, and she’d seen her friend fall so many damn times it was a miracle he hadn’t broken anything. “You uh…need some help there? That looks pretty broken.”
“Nah, I think I’m good.” They were most certainly not all good. “I uh-” They twisted, quickly trying to put their arm back into place while using their body to shield it from the view of others. “-just twisted it or something. I’m not a doctor, though. I’m sure it’s nothing.”
“At least someone did.” {octavia frowned slightly before a smirk placed her lips.} “It’s nice to meet you brett.” {She said, slipping the machete back as they stepped away to show that she meant no harm.} “I might cry, is that okay?”
“I’m not gonna stop you, I might even join you.” They smiled weakly, their arms coming to rest on their knees, fiddling absently with the seams of their pants. “Just to clarify though, whatever we say here stays here yeah?”
cam tried to peer over the other’s shoulder as they turned away, but after a few seconds of not being able to see anything, he gave up. when they turned back to face them, cam glanced back down at their arm. “ that is definitely not fine. the bone still isn’t in place, and even then, you need something to stabilize it. “
“Nah, it’s fine.” The fear of being discovered felt as though it were clogging their throat, and the pain was barely noticeable in the wake of it. “I can just walk it off.” Brett shrugged, going for nonchalant but the feeling was ruined by a wince. “It’s fine.”
“ seems like it, “ she said with a small nod. “ hey, if it makes you feel any better, you still made me laugh!! even if it wasn’t, you know, for the reason you wanted. “
“Well, a laugh is a laugh I suppose.” They sighed quietly, pouting for a moment. “Do you actually not like good-bad jokes?”
“In my experience, take anything that comes out of a hunter’s mouth with a grain of salt. Demons or no, from what I’ve seen, they’re not just passing through.”
“What does that mean for full moons then? Should we be doing anything, outside of identifying who the hunters are?”
“No, while the lights are still out. But yeah, sure. We could do it, like, evening before it gets dark and then I’ll reward you with a magnificent course from the nearest pizza place, because I’m a nice person like that.”
“I can definitely get with that. Although I have to warn you that I’m not very good at building or fixing or anything like that. So I might not be that much help.”
“ that’s such a shame… ” chara said, a grin on their pink lips. red eyes flit over the scene in front of them, looking at the other. they made no move to offer HELP, only shoving their hands into the pocket of their shorts. “ it looks broken. leave it that way, it’s much more INTERESTING, ” they remarked, before rolling their eyes. they held out a single, helping hand, which was almost MOCKING, considering they had just broke their arm.
Brett just scoffed, taking a deep breath before more or less snapping their arm back into place. It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough for now. “It’s not that broken, but it’s definitely not going to be interesting if it heals wrong.” Tempting as it was, instead of yanking the newcomer down to the ground with them, Brett just sighed and pushed themselves to their feet.
“It can never be easy can it?” She hummed taking his card and starting to type the numbers into the computer. “You can just put the organizer back in the box.” she mentioned, nodding to the box with her head, eyes still fixated on the screen. “When did you notice it was missing do you think it was your last batch you returned?” The other wolf was an avid reader, checking his entire backlog would be a pain in the ass. And call her paranoid but she still felt skittish around wolves she didn’t know after the alpha pack.
“Yeah, I think so.” They nodded slowly, carefully putting the organiser back. Sleeping in new places was always difficult for them, so they’d checked out some of John Locke’s work to help them nod off. “It was probably in An Essay Concerning Human Understanding, I think I feel asleep reading that.”
he had watched the only thing happen from a distance, but the second he saw the other’s arm, cam hurried over to him. his mind might have been somewhere else, but he definitely knew a broken arm when he saw one. “ hey, do you need some help?? that looks broken. “
“It’s not broken.” Shit. Humans. “I’m fine.” Turning away from the boy, they grit their teeth and pushed the bone around a bit, until it wasn’t protruding from the skin so much. They weren’t exactly a doctor, but it looked about right. “See-” Turning again, they held up both their arms. “It’s fine.”
“I was trained to be ambitious. My parents send me to any class that was offered and not more than an hour long car ride away. But you make me sound cruel! A circus is fun. Yeah, I know you’re a born one but somehow you still shift and I doubt that your DNA stays the same to a hundred percent. But then again, I shouldn’t apply biology to the supernatural world. - I am not living in denial! Like the sun? Huh. I am extremely hot, true. But I’ve out grown my extremely self-obsessed phase. I know I am good looking and smart, but I don’t usually rub it into people’s faces. You’re not so bad yourself.”
“That sounds..... fun. Circuses probably aren’t that great to be a part of, that’s a lot of effort. Isn’t your DNA supposed to stay the same all the time? - That sounds exactly like what someone who was in denial would say. Coming into the supernatural world tends to cure any inflated egos.”
as the other told yet another joke, alex couldn’t help but let her giggle grow into a loud laugh. “ oh, gosh. would you believe me if i said that was my little brother’s go-to joke?? “
“Wow, really?” They sniffed dramatically, looking into the distance. “I obviously need to step up my game.”
“Whenever you want. But preferably when it’s light out.”
“When it’s lights out? If you promise me dinner we could probably get it done tonight?”
I’ve seen this many in a single place before, and it didn’t end well. It was an all-out war, and a lot of people didn’t walk away from it. When I was talking with one of the ones here, she said she only hunted demons, but that doesn’t necessarily apply to the rest of them…”
“We’re certainly going to be having a lot of fun then, aren’t we? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an actual demon before, that’s actually pretty cool. Even though they could just be lying.”
