Title: In Color Rating: T
Disclaimer Warning: I recommend you read this fic on mobile for the best experience Day’s Notes: I…I have no excuse for getting distracted by yet another Soulmate AU idea. This time it’s not canon compliant, it is a Real Life/Modern AU. If you are reading this on desktop the “Keep Reading” link may direct you to my blog instead of the neat little pop out and it won’t ruin your reading experience but this fic is meant to be read using the new color feature which you won’t be able to see on my blog theme. I do suggest for the paler colors (because they will be pale to match the color they should be) to either highlight the word or switch to my desktop theme to read so it doesn’t irritate your eyes if they give you issues. Like I said, it doesn’t change the story I just thought it would be fun. I meant to publish sooner but I fell ill and slept for like a whole day to recover. I am working on Part 2 to the laundry fic, it should be out by this weekend.
Thank you @kimichi-fubaki for your kind words. they helped out when I was finishing up writing this.

There was a section of the store that housed media in a range of colors that Sasuke only knew the names of. He never wandered over to those aisles unless he was with his mother.
Mikoto would open tubes of paint and scoff, unsatisfied with the pigment, until she found tubes that were satisfactory━paints she could work with, and manipulate better.
Sasuke didn’t understand what she was looking for.
It all looked gray to him.

epilogue: in which sakura is just as bad as sasuke
So he found Tinder Girl. Sakura Haruno, that is.
Sakura Haruno was a friend of Karin’s roommate in second year, tutored Juugo in first year biology, and was a customer of Shikamaru’s (although she punched him when he listed that fact and told him not to tell anyone). She was a student in one of his brother’s labs back when she first started university as some weird, gifted, awkward kid, and currently she worked as one of his mother’s teaching assistants.
She was infuriatingly good at beer pong (“It’s called Physics.”), drank more coffee than anyone should (“It’s part of being a student, not that you’d be familiar with that Mr. Doesn’t-Go-To-Class-Because-Daddy-Pays-For-It-So-I-Don’t-Actually-Recognize-The-Value-Of-The-Lectures-I-Skip.”), and shopped way too much and for stupid, stupid things (“Well fuck you too—I’ll bring Itachi to the VIB Rouge exclusive 20% off because he would actually appreciate it.”). She was pretty and had the nicest ass and lips that he was regularly drawn to, and was, well, really cool, and not just because she didn’t mind watching cat videos with him.
Sakura was clever and kind and impossibly witty. When she finally got over the weirdness of all that he did—which, in retrospect, would have set off a normal person’s Creeper Alert regardless of how seemingly romantic it may have been perceived as—she deigned to get to know him and they just, well, clicked.
He liked her.
