Homecoming on Amazon is one of the best series I have seen in a while. Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot) has a unique, stylized, somewhat dark and dystopian touch, creating a riveting commentary on a variety of aspects of US culture today. It’s about our military and treatment of vets, our Pharma-obsessed society looking for a quick fix to everything, the psychology of trauma, the greed of big business, and the yearning for freedom and meaning in life. Julia Roberts and Stephan James deliver stellar performances. I also love that this started as a scripted podcast before the show was developed. Gimlet Media is killing it. The show might be a little too slowly laced, surreal or moody for some; I highly recommend it and encourage you to give it a shot for at least 3-4 episodes (30m each).

Trump is now lying over 40x per day. And that doesn’t count all of his hyperbolic and/or subjective, ridiculous claims, like “Everyone agrees that Brussels went well.” How does this end?

Had a wonderful weekend with our friends/fam Shelley Gladwin Estelle & Josh Estelle in Palm Springs. It’s amazing to see the next generation grow up together.

This is devastating. He captured three of my favorite things in the world: incredible & unique food, travel, and a sensitivity & respect for local culture. In a time when many are discussing and realizing widespread cultural appropriation, Bourdain was a man who entered each community he visited ready to experience it on their terms. We’ll miss you.

This album is pretty incredible and timely. You think it deserved the first Pulitzer ever awarded to a hip hop album? I say long overdue.
