it is extremely sobering as a trans woman trying to articulate a materialist analysis of her own position politically socially and historically AS a woman, and to be not only confronted with but confronted by — that is to say, challenged by — a trans man whose explicit out-loud position boils down to "wait now, hold on, i actually want to be thought of as a different kind of man to whom different rules apply and who is only a man in some situations — when you guys [sic] say you're women you're actually serious?" and to be clear i don't think this is true of most trans men or is in any way like, essential to trans men, but it keeps happening. how many of these guys are there??
