This has been in my brain since I first watched the last of us a few months ago. now I'm dumping it on you all, in all it's unbeta-ed glory
in star wars fandom how is everything about anakin's fall always everyone else's fault except the guy who personally designed it to be a no hit run of Sith Apprentice Generator IV
in legends palpatine wrote this book of monsters about sith creations and included an entry for darth vader, and described the amount of joy he got from turning a nine year old into a war machine. the entry ends with maybe the most chilling line in anything even star wars adjacent, where palpatine says, "given the opportunity to create vader again, i would, and with glee," or thereabouts. the entire entry is haunting, but that final line is completely fucking chilling; palpatine is the ultimate, insidious force, and no matter how long it took, how difficult it was, or what anakin did to him, palpatine wouldn't have stopped. even after being killed by vader, palpatine would still go back and do it all over again, even if it ended in vader killing him. palpatine - famous for the ways he's attempted to cheat death - would risk it all just for the joy of curbstomping a nine year old's soul into hell one more time. and this is just something that exists that we can all read
what you all thought i was joking? you all thought i was joshin? i was crafting joshuas? you thought i was fucking around?
The best decision The Mandalorian ever made was centering their show around an archetypal masked, taciturn gunslinger who wanders from town to town never putting down roots, and then revealing that he acts that way because he’s a massively awkward introvert who uses that archetype to avoid having to socialize with people beyond the three interaction scripts he already knows. 10/10, top tier characterization, I love seeing this man outshoot a bar full of people and then get scammed by a random mechanic because he’s too polite to confront her about it. Truly a hero of our times.
Din "I've only made friends with one (1) droid ever and that was my limit" Djarin just resorting to corpse reanimation rather than programming a new one. I missed him.
ABSOLUTELY LOSING IT. “How are they going to explain Grogu’s return, which happened in a completely different show?? Will they make a long as hell recap?? Flashbacks in the show?? A long-winded explanation?? Viewers of only The Mandalorian are going to be so confused, they HAVE to explain it somehow, they have to–” AND THEN THEY DIDN’T EXPLAIN SHIT, GROGU’S JUST THERE, NOT EVEN A RECAP MOMENT, JUST DIN’S, “HE CAME BACK.” You know what, Favreau? I respect the ballsiness of it. Don’t explain shit to your audience, they know what they need to know, Baby Yoda’s back, that’s all they’re giving you. Sink or swim in the narrative, bitch. That’s some real king shit.
IDIOTS. JUST MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I don’t know how to explain the sheer comedy of Bo-Katan leaning over to 100% seriously ask, “How do you eat with other people around?”, Din saying, “You don’t. You go find an isolated spot in the desert to eat instead.”, Bo-Katan’s very serious head nod in response to this as if, oh, well, of course, yes that makes perfect sense, and all of the Mandalorians getting up to walk out into the dark like they just had a mass wave of “oh shit I gotta take a crap in the desert” all at once. I was literally in tears, I love when Star Wars bullshit takes itself completely seriously.
Grogu likes Din’s mustache.
So I’m hella excited over the third season coming I just pray we get some more of Din’s feelings about his past, so I finally drew this little thing I’ve been thinking about for a while ;v;
I firmly believe wearing a helmet for your whole life is no reason to not style yourself like you want, so let Din have a mustache if he wants™!, but also I like to think he looks at himself on the mirror and can’t help but think of his dad :’) so he keeps the mustache.
Also pls let Din adopt Grogu and show him his face when they’re alone!!!!
din djarin: if droids have a million haters, then i am one of them. if droids have ten haters, then i am one of them. if droids have only one hater, then that is me. if droids have no haters, then that means i am no longer alive. if the galaxy is against droids, then i am the galaxy.
he’s vibing
Din Djarin is insane. this guy takes his magic 50 year old baby to fifth grade fight club like “my baby wants to fight” and this 11 yr old kid goes uhhhhh dude im not gonna fight a baby he's the size of a rotisserie chicken and Din is like ohhhh ho ho, I just decided my baby's gonna kick your ass extra hard now. and then the baby does a double somersault and completely annihilates him at paintball. funniest shit I've ever seen
Grogu immediately mashing that “NO” button like Bunny the dog when she’s told she has to wait to go for a walk, over and over and over, then fifteen minutes later using the suit to steal food and destroy merchandise, is peak hilarity, like Din felt that coming a mile away, he knows that baby is a chaos gremlin and this was only going to make him more powerful. And Din was absolutely right, Grogu is unstoppable now. No tasty looking food is safe. No shiny knob will be able to hide from him. Thank god Din already gave Bo-Katan the lightsaber, because you know Grogu would have been coming for that next, if Din still had had it on him.
