THOUGHTS on Fashion by Tati
IN THE CYCLE
Jazz wouldn’t exist without constant change and new ideas in the music scene and fashion seems to follow that same principle. Change is the force of our creative mind that pick’s up all outputs and mixes them in a way that is true only to ourselves.
The history of fashion shows us how emotions repeat themselves. It is the “mix” of outputs and inputs that add value at that specific time. In a way, it is always different. Though it seems a bit like a repeating cycle.
Change in which we are living in NOW gives us much more than a fashion style. The Coronavirus shows us that the NEXT NORMAL is constantly adapting. We are finding a new appreciation for OLD knowledge. We are almost pushed into “GOING WITH THE FLOW”. SLOW is a relearned word that represents old knowledge but of course there are some new emotions associated with it.
So what is the MODERN way in which the fashion cycle is bringing us a new sense of JOY? Rediscovering natural fibers is a natural occurrence as we have to be happy with what we have at home at our disposal. Even if we are somehow buying a shape or color (not to mention the importance of brands), we start to appreciate fabrics such as cotton, wool, and silk.
Being all day in these “HOMESTYLE” outfits puts fashion in a position of only “JUST FEELING OK”. Fabric is gaining importance over shape. For now, I truly believe that once the pandemic is over, true longing for a nice shape that perfectly follows the body will be an appreciated luxury.
Until then we might dream about new shapes ;)

Redefining scarf
Marf (mask and scarf together) can be a playful and useful fashion accessory. It was designed to break “new normal” days into a better experience. It is washable, reusable and double-sided. Each new way of using it, puts a smile on my face. Let it be...always around the neck..
Proud to be a part of Pan-European Hackathon 2020 as a designer of TisaScarf (Slovenian team: Ivan Škrlec, Simona Šarotar Žižek, Amna Potočnik). What a nice experience in this strange “Corona” time.
