I have no sexual interest or desire. I receive no pleasure from sex, masturbation, or vouyerism.

I can feel vaguely aroused from certain fetishes or paraphilias- specifically murder, cannibalism, and extreme guro or sadism. But even then, I don’t feel the desire to “get off”. It’s just a feeling that sits with me. It’s the vaguest pinprick of arousal, and even it goes away eventually.

Yet I wouldn’t consider myself asexual. I desire the concept of desire. I want to want. I think for asexual people, most of them would describe their lack of attraction as a natural part of themself. I would not. I feel as if there is an empty void where my sexual feelings should be, and I want it back. I think it’s the trauma, but even my intensive therapy hasn’t helped me regain any sense of sex drive.

There are over 8 billion people on this planet, very few people are thinking about you specifically. Nobody is sexualizing your trauma because we don’t know you.

Hey. Hey, you. The people who have a strong preference for the explicit and smutty side of fandom. You’re super valid and are doing nothing wrong by having sexuality be your main focus. Sexuality being important to you doesn’t make you a creep, you’re not objectifying people because you prefer to explore characters’ and ships’ sexual lives and preferences. Sex is not shameful. Don’t let anyone try to shame you for celebrating and loving sexuality. Sex and smut have been an important part of fandom throughout it’s whole history. You don’t have to meet any silly quota of non-sexual fandom interests.

There’s still so much sex negativity in the world. People can have sex negative opinions without even realizing because they’ve grown up in such a repressive and conservative culture. Fandom has always been a place to escape that repressive culture.

This is misinformation.

A Paraphilia is not “basically radqueer” and it’s not “incest loving”, it’s incorrect to say that. A paraphilia is oftentimes a disordered, uncontrollable attraction. Yes, this includes pedophilia and zoophilia- but it also includes objectophilia / “objectum”, and attraction to things like pain or fictophilia. A paraphilia is also not the same as a kink. A kink is not a fetish is not a paraphilia.

There are also non-disordered paraphiles, which is the same concept but without the disorder. I am not a non-disordered paraphile, nor do I have experiences with the subject, so thats all I can say.

Paraphiles (at least, a large chunk of us) do not think that our paraphilias make us queer, but some of us happen to be queer anyways. For example, I am a lesbian, intersex, & transgender. I am queer for those reasons. I am also a disordered paraphile. I am not queer for those reasons. Two things can exist at once.

For clarity’s sake, I’m not arguing that paraphilias are LGBTQ+. I’m pointing out misinformation and correcting it. The OP’s point is still correct.

Certain antis need to learn they are not the only traumatized people in the world and that their personal comfort is their own responsibility. No one owns the experience of being abused or harmed, and if you are harassing or hurting other people for their preferences in fiction, you are a perpetrator of violence.

I think frequently of when I was a young girl on the Internet, I spoke to this man who wound up grooming me and eventually making CSAM of me. At the time I was very naïve and still trying to figure out my morals, and what I should stand for. What attracted me to this man was his views on morality and fiction. I found him because another “antishipper” was posting screenshots of some Fujoshi who shipped some random anime brothers. I forget the anime. He was in the comments, ranting about it. I checked out his account, and I told him I liked his art. I drew him fanart. We began to talk a lot. He made me angry- not at him, at the world. He made me think he and his community (“antishippers”) were the only good, moral people, and told me horror stories about children being groomed en masse by l0licons. It got to a point where we were talking everyday. It was a gradual thing- he would complain to me about “degenerates”, and subtly make a compliment out of it. You aren’t gross like them, You’re so smart. Things like that turned into “you’re so mature”. You’re so mature turned into the exchange of selfies. That turned into him video calling me, making up a story about some “degen” online, and showing me his penis. I was shocked, and I remember saying that it was wrong of him- he got angry. He shamed me for being uncomfortable. After all, we were both on “the same side”, right?

He groomed me for two years. He only stopped talking to me after I attempted suicide and lost access to the internet. I found out about a year ago that he traded explicit photos of me with his friends.

I will never believe that “antishippers” care about children. I will never believe them when they say “we can care about two things at once”- because the only thing worth caring about is a real flesh and blood person, not some drawing.
