I'm just saying but Hudson Williams from Heated Rivalry is an ENTP.
I was making a list of what I needed to do, I managed to write down a letter before someone called me. And now I've hung up and I'm trying to determine what this 'M' stands for.
I agreed rather spontaneously to do a speed date on a news station which is broadcasted to the German-speaking side of Switzerland. They brought me to this man who was wearing a fedora on a park bench, and we spoke *in gErmAn* in front of two cameras, answering questions where I did not understand every word, but could mirror the guy enough to seem functional (from my viewpoint). And then the guy asked if I wanted to out again, and I said no but that it was a fun talk. Then I had a closing conversation with the main interviewer who then told me the speed date was a part of a documentary to dive into how hard it is for shorter men to find dates.
And it's times like this that I regret doing it for the vine.
TBH ENTP #264
Sometimes I do too many things for the vine though
Hi! So, all my life, I've been typed by quizzes as an INTP, until I got ENTP. Whether I'm an Introvert or an Extrovert has always been a mystery, because while I'm quiet and painfully awkward around people I don't know (who describe me as robotic and emotionless), when I'm with friends, the entire school knows me as loud, crazy, obnoxious, and full of bad puns and snarky insults -- also super annoying. The loudness smt feels like effort but I still don't know my type. Which would you say I am?
Hi!
I'd guess that you sent this ask like... years ago lololololol.
Still I'd ask you some other questions.. the difference between INTP and ENTP is not exactly introvert vs. extrovert. It's whether or not you get your energy from interacting with things around you vs. from interacting with what's in your mind.
As a kid, I was also very quiet and observant. I can also be very awkward and uncomfortable around types of people I don't know. And with age, as I've understood people better, I can start off seeming quite extroverted immediately (even though it drains me). And this is because, as an ENTP, my two strongest cognitive functions are Ne Ti. Extroverted intuition is the strongest, and this doesn't have anything to do specifically with people. Rather, it's by cool things I see around me (crazy architecture, a good book, or maybe a really funny person). A person can bring material to the table to make me feel energized, but if I'm socializing with people who I don't really connect with.... they will drain me.
An INTP is stacked with Ti Ne... so their strongest function should be introverted thinking. This is dissecting, organizing and systemizing data. Thinking up the clever things to say or a crazy argument about something obscure is the first thing that happens to energize the INTP, and then they take it to the table to get input with their extroverted intuition after the fact. For an INTP, too much information coming in while they're processing or working with what's already in their mind can be draining.
And for both types... people are probably draining a bit, so it's not the easiest answer to find! Generally though, the quips from ENTPs tend to be more connected to what's going on (and less fully formed ideas), and from INTPs they tend to be fully formed thoughts that may be a little more separated from immediate context.
Genuine question, can ENTPs be religious? I was roaming around the web and most of them had the similar opinion where it seems that ENTPs can't be religious (one in quora mentions that you're probably an ENFJ if you do). I'm an ENTP and I'm pretty religious in a way, I want to know more thoughts about this.
I think no matter what we can't generalize!
I can't help but combine religion innately with culture. And so it makes sense to me that since religion is related so intimately with one's understanding of the world and also with ones coping to the world.... some ENTPs should be religious.
To be ENTP doesn't mean that you are not feeling. It also doesn't mean that you're immune from wanting to believe in things that you can't see or touch.
Also, I think you have people who are religious just because they are raised that way. And people who are religious because they enjoy the learnings that they get, the structure that it brings, and making an active choice of living as they feel to be 'righteously'... (of course there are huge bad sides to religion but this is not representative of all).
And I think a mindful approach to religion-- choosing it rather than simply being a part of it because it's all that you know-- is the one that would better describe ENTPs who are religious.
It's an insane overstatement that ENTPs would not be religious at all.
For the record, I, my dad, and his mom (my grandma) are all ENTPs and were raised in the church. I don't know about my grandma, but I do know that both my dad and I run skeptical. However, I would say that we're both deist in that we believe that there's something bigger than us. While I stopped going to church as soon as I left home, my parents still go because they enjoy the volunteering part. And so the skepticism is not larger than their belief in helping people, not judging (they come from very poor backgrounds so they've seen some stuff...), giving back to the community etc.
Just my two cents!
What do you think is the relationship between an intj and entp? I'm a entp with an intj father. So yeah....btw good posts.
Hi! I'm an entp with an intj mother! Love her so much lol.
Growing up, an INTJ parent can be a very smart and calculating parent-- always problem solving and adjusting the methods depending on the kid. An INTJ i could also see as being less likely as trying to be friends with their child.
No tantrum or protest will break an INTJ parent, and I can personally attest to being pretend left behind at a grocery store or being dropped off a block away from home because I kept asking, 'are we there yet?' 'what about now?' when I knew the answer.
I think this type of parent, one who is paying attention to whether or not their clever entp child is trying to get away with something, is the perfect kind of match. (Other intuitives could be a good match here as well.)
Although, I wouldn't say the relationship between an INTJ parent and an ENTP child is always smooth and fun in the growing up stage, I think there's very high potential for the two to really become close after the ENTP is grown. But I do think for kids like me....... it's really important to have a rational parent not afraid of trying out various methods to get a child to learn consequences and accountability. I have actually like the most respect for my infj mother--she was both no-nonsense and brilliant but also incredibly compassionate and caring.
What's your favorite and least favorite type? And why? I'm an infj btw
My favorite type is either enfp or infj or intj. If you've been around for a while, you'd know that that i'm addictively and endlessley attracted to infjs out of my will. And my closest friends are either enfps or intjs. I've also been known to date an enfp here and there.
I also love entps for obvious (non biased???? o.o) reasons.
And then I don't have a least favorite! I've learned that people contain multitudes. A personality type won't dictate whether or not I like or dislike someone in the end.
i aggressively multitask just to show i can, and then i don’t get anything done
There is no in between.
TBH ENTP #8
*mid heartfelt conversation i didn’t initiate* let’s take a meme break
ENTP who just watched a woman 40 minute video of a woman eating seafood: Sometimes I feel like I don't have time to do the things I want to do. Life is fleeting. Time is a finite construct.
I just got home and took off all of my clothes and now I’m naked and I don’t remember why.
I’m basically the human example of ‘do it for the vine’
UPDATE so me and INFJ had a day. We built some furniture, during which he took off his shirt and i was like O.o. We took a food break, walked somewhere, sat down, tALKED ABOUT REAL LIFE THINGS and it was just lovely. Came back, finished building, took a tour of my house, went and sat outside to tALK MORE, AND THEN HE WAS LIKE, WE NEED TO GO OUT. to which i was like yEAH. And I’m just buzzing because I like being around him.
Five years after this post I will be hanging out with this infj again. I was just going back and reading the memories on him (because I've completely forgotten, wild) to determine whether or not I need to look cute.
Just spent 7 minutes trying to find the bee in my room and then I realized my stomach was growling
