after all this time, i’m still into you — hayes & bailey crawford
a picturesque relationship, right out of the cheesy high school movie. bailey harbour, beaumont high’s cheerleading captain, and hayes crawford, beaumont high’s star quarter back, class of 2005. everyone knew them, everyone adored them, and if they had any relationship problems at all, they kept them well hidden. together, they went on to study at the university of tennessee, where hayes continued his football career and bailey studied hospitality.
in 2008, tragedy struck on the field. at a home game, hayes suffered an injury that would ultimately end his football career. people were devastated, scouts from all over the united states were looking to recruit him to the nfl, and hayes had spent so much of his life dedicated to football, that the thought of never stepping on the field again put him in more pain than the injury himself. the only thing that got him through was bailey.
never once did their love for each other waiver. never once did hayes look elsewhere, did he think for one moment that he should be with someone else. during their senior year of college, he proposed. he was still in physical therapy, still learning, slowly but surely, how to stand on his own to feet again. and bailey had been by his side through all of it, his rock. his boulder.
though they married in 2011, the spent the following years growing together. they moved into a home in nashville, which they bought and flipped with their own two hands ( and the help of all the crawford siblings ). it was just the two of them for a while, hayes became the football coach at a local high school and bailey the manager of a hotel, and they were happy, mostly. though hayes was still young, and in mostly good shape, though he’d never be quite right enough to return to the game. he’d always have a limp in his step, a twitch in his throw. and every day as a coach killed him a little bit inside.
in 2018, bailey gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that they named cecelia. cece was born only a month after another crawford cousin was born, peyton, and the two youngest grandchildren are the best of friends, even at just one years old.
presently, bailey and hayes have just announced their second pregnancy, another girl. at the moment, the names in the running are hannah and mackenzie, but the list keeps getting longer. ( ultimately, they name her hannah )
in the future, bailey and hayes will go on to have another daughter. and then another. suzannah ( after hayes’ mother ) and annie ( after bailey’s mother ) . hayes, a football coach, a true , southern, manly man, is dying for a son, but it doesn’t seem to be in God’s plan. After four daughters, he decides it's obviously not going to happen, and four kids is more than enough.
but when bailey goes to get her tubes tied, another miracle is in store. the doctor informs her that he cannot perform the ligation because she is one month pregnant. and yes, the fifth and final child is a boy. they name in henry.
