Point Reyes, CA
February 2016
When we lived in San Francisco, we’d always bring out of towners here. It’s really a fascinating place.
Point Reyes is a prominent landform and popular tourist attraction on the Pacific coast of Marin County in Northern California. It is about 30 miles west-northwest of San Francisco. The peninsula is notoriously windy and prone to thick fog. Dress in layers, regardless of the season.
It’s also near the epicenter of the 1906 earthquake and you can stand on both sides of the tectonic plates. Point Reyes moved north 21 ft (6.4 m).
