Next in Line || N and Nate

"I don’t mind walking," Nate said. "Everything’s been great! I got out of Unova for a while, went to Hoenn and stuff." He shrugged. "I sort of needed a vacation from," competition? battles? Nate didn’t really know—at the time he’d just wanted to get away from Unova and not have to think about everything that’d happened, or the prospect of challenging the Elite Four. But the league had loomed in the back of his mind, reminders following him wherever he went, so he’d come back to see if he was ready to make his way through Victory Road and beyond. 

Nate waved his hand around to encompass their surroundings, and by extension the region as a whole. “—this,” he finished, a bit lamely.

"But I’m back now! Travel is fun, until you start missing your friends and parents." He was living at home again with his mom, and he’d been on his way to visit his dad in Nimbasa before coming across N. Nate hadn’t let his dad know he was coming, though; there was plenty of time for a ride on the ferris-wheel, especially on a day as clear as this one. The view was going to be amazing!

"What have you been up to?" he asked, keeping pace with the other trainer as they began to walk towards the city.

"I’m glad you’re doing well. I left this region a few days after the last time I saw you and have been traveling since," he replied, a light laugh escaping him at the younger trainer’s mention of Hoenn a few moments before. "I actually just returned a few weeks ago, from Hoenn."

He would have added that he was surprised he hadn’t seen Nate when he was there, but the region was large. With so many people, the chances of them seeing one another without coordinating wouldn’t have been high. If only they had known each others plans, perhaps they could have met up.

"Still even without running into you, I made some new friends, both human and pokemon," he made sure to clarify. He couldn’t travel as far without it taking a long time since he left Reshiram in Nate’s care, but an great number of the people and pokemon he met, he might not have if he had simply flown wherever he was headed. "I cared for many friends as I went, and some stayed with me a while. They would eventually return home of course, but the company was quite enjoyable. I imagine if I return to Hoenn I will see them again. It was a nice trip."

Flower Festival || Event Open

After several moments of blindly feeling around for the light switch, the room is finally illuminated. The furniture consists of light woods and soft green and blue fabrics. The only darker colors were that of the television and of the navy blue curtains meant to block out the light any sleepy guest may want to keep out. There were two beds and a nightstand set between them. Further back, next to the curtains, was a table, desk, and three chairs. On the overall, N was a little surprised the room was so welcoming. Not all hotels were this nice. A fitting place to stay during the flower festival.

Zoroark appeared to agree as he proceeded ahead of N to explore their temporary residence. He opened the curtain, in favor of the natural light.

"Not bad, huh?" N said with a smile as he flipped the switch off again. He laid back on the bed closest to the door and sighed at the softness. Everywhere in this floral town was pleasant, peaceful. Unpacking could wait a while. "Home, sweet home, at least for the next few days."

His companion, who had settled against the other bed, nodded in agreement to this as well, but then suddenly stood. Ears perked toward the door, the pokemon gave a low growl to alert N.

Click— The door unlocked and the handle turned. The “do not disturb” sign should be there… so if not staff, who?

Next in Line || N and Nate

Nate’s smile brightened to near-blinding levels of happiness at the thought of spending time with N. “Really? That’d be awesome!” He admired the older trainer a great deal—if asked, Nate would say that N was probably the most amazing person he’d ever met. He could talk to Pokémon and was really smart and had lots of ideas about the world …and he’d saved Nate, inside the Giant Chasm. 

It had been a while since since Nate had been on the ferris wheel, too. When he was younger and still living in Nimbasa he’d gone pretty often, but since then he hadn’t had the time or anyone to go with.

With such happiness emanating from the younger trainer, N couldn’t help but return his grin as he replied. “It’ll be fun!” Nate was one of the few people N thought of as a friend or had won the approval of his companion, Zoroark. He was glad to see the trainer well and have this opportunity to talk to him again.

"We could fly to Nimbasa," he said and shrugged toward the route at their side, "but this route isn’t too long and I’d to catch up, if it’s alright. I mean, it’s been several months since I saw you. How has your journey been?"

He hardly knew anyone, let alone had a crush. He knew little of romance either, except for what he read in storybooks. “I don’t think I’ve ever done anything,” he finally answered, “Maybe I’ll have an answer to this later.”

"Something I would wish for, more than anything…" He wanted to create separate worlds for people and pokemon, because he thought it would be better in the end, but, "I would wish we lived in a better world… one where people and pokemon could coexist. In a place like that, a world with no strife, I wouldn’t have had to say goodbye to my friends."

"It’s a difficult dream to make come true though. A more obtainable wish; I’d like to ride the Ferris wheel in Nimbasa City again. It isn’t far, so perhaps I’ll go. You can join me if you like."

Monochrome Meeting || Marley and N

Just two more days and he would be able to take the ferry to Snowpoint City and reach the mainland. He had encountered many interesting people while exploring this large Sinnoh island, but most of them were as harsh as the landscape. It was difficult to talk to them, much less get along, so he was happy to be departing.

N wasn’t sure what he had hoping to find by traveling to this island in the first place, but whatever it was, he had not found it. Perhaps he thought he would meet a trainer whose bond with their pokemon was what allowed him or her to reach great strength as to come here, but looking back it seemed a naïve goal.

Pokemon and trainers alike were gathered in the Battle Café, where he rested now. The café was his last stop before he would head to the ports in the Fight Area. Some trainers in the café were just here to enjoy the food, drink, or company of their friends, but as the name described, many others were here to test their strength.

One battle in particular, caught N’s attention, when he heard the cry of a pokemon who said there was no trainer greater than his own. The battle taking place was that between a young male trainer, and a girl in a black and white dress. There was nothing extraordinary about the boy. His pokemon were strong and cared for him, but there were few strong emotions outside of that. The girl’s pokemon was another story. It was her Arcanine’s call that made N turn his head.

After watching the battle through to the end, N learned the pokemon’s inner thoughts. The first thing he noticed was how much Arcanine loved his trainer. This feeling in the pokemon’s heart or bond between this pokemon and trainer could only be described as rare, and he was surprised to find someone like this battling here. The pokemon performed incredibly well during the battle, and seemed to enjoy himself. In fact, he seemed to want to push his limits even further, as if show his trainer what he was truely capable of.

Even though the pokemon’s opinion of battle was different than his own, and he hardly imagined a pokemon could really have such a view, he was intrigued. What was it about this trainer that brought these inner thoughts into her pokemon’s heart?

Getting up from the table, he approahed the trainer and offered a hand to her Arcanine before petting the pokemon’s head.

“I heard a friend’s voice,” he said and continued, “I don’t like pokemon battles, but this Arcanine thinks much differently. The bond between you two is unlike that between most pokemon and trainers.” A more apologetic smile, “Sorry, I should introduce myself. I’m N.”

ooc; Mun here with a mandatory introductory post thing. Some of you already know me, but for those of you who don’t, you can call me Rain. I activated this blog today since I see no reason in extending the due date, but I won’t be able to post until Tuesday as I'm currently studying for an exam. I'm making a post in a moment for those of you who want to start plotting an rp (so that I can start writing right away when I return) and look forward to rping with you all and being a part of TMR.
