Sorry I’ve been pretty dead, alot has happened, March was quite bad and I’m back at work in my retail job as an essential worker and there are confirmed cases at my workplace. I might return when I can become more motivated, I apologize deeply to my friends and acquaintances. But for now, just expect I lazily favorite things at night like a unimpressive Impdimp.

A study I did while adoring the sweet electric wool pokemon, Mareep. May have added a slight indulgent doodle in a less realistic manner, they are just.. very cute Pokemon, it couldn’t be helped. My subject for the main image was a female Mareep, she was quite photogenic, patient and brought a plump pecha berry for me.

 Hailing from Johto, these adorable little Pokemon can be seen around fairly commonly- be it on typically on farms, with trainers or even in the wild in their preferred habitat of grassy fields or plains.

They’re very social, not too found of being in just pairs or groups of three, as they live in large herds in the wild, usually accompanied by few Flaaffy and Ampharos, its evolved forms. The same follows for farms, though Ampharos can be seen with sea-faring trainers or worksmen, Ampharos’s tail light shines so brightly that it is quite useful for a beacon or even to send messages over large bodies of water. On farms, it serves more as a guardian, lacking wool to be sheared or collected from shed. This shed or sheared wool is used for popular high quality clothing brands, it gets specially processed and worked to make sure its natural static collection properties don’t follow over.

Mareep are very social herbivores, they can be seen rubbing their wool together to share or charge electricity with its herd mates. They graze together, forage together and will not hesitate to protect the youngest or ill. Mareep will ‘gift’ each other choice berries found or what they deem ‘the best food’ found, they do not mind sharing and somewhat lack a concept of personal space. They can be seen nestled together in the stables or fields, a large cloud of yellow spotted amongst whatever scenery; in the wild, this may be a survival technique, putting young or ill or injured toward the center.  The brighter its tail glows, the more electricity it has stored in its wool. Farmers will recommend you are wary if trying to pet these Pokemon, being an electric type, it can be a shocking experience. They are friendly and may accidentally shock you by brushing their wool against your body(a sign of trust, affection; accepting you to the herd). 

Their wool is harvested when it is fullest, or during the summer months when it naturally sheds; they have a fairy decent rate of growth, as their wool serves as its electricity gathering, if lacking all wool they are vulnerable. Farmers have no issue, but wild Mareep are at risk due to this, they grow very hostile and wary during these months. Farm bred Mareep do not get as defensive, but always take precaution when approaching a Pokemon you don’t know fully, or seems out of its usual element.

A brief study on an Ekans I met a bit ago, I am still busy in Sinnoh but feel we’ll be arriving soon to the Ice Rock. Ice is still quite anxious, she has been very battle happy which is odd for her typical nature. Moving on.

Ekans are a poison type Pokemon first discovered into the Kanto region, they are often seen as evil or bad, generally in a negative light but these Pokemon can make excellent, strong companions. They just have an “odd” diet, trainers need to be sure to incorporate some sort of egg or egg substitute as they are Ovivores by nature. Beware feeding whole eggs, though it’s their intended diet, Ekans can accidentally knock themselves out from excitement and trying to eat too fast. They have been observed in the wild to coil up on branches to digest and rest. Fainting on the ground often holds negative for them, making them an easy meal for other pokemon. Large prey can have the same effect of knocking them out.

Ekans do not have teeth, nor do they possess a forked tongue though their flat tongue catches prey scent(as well as others scent) very well. They seem to possess thermal visioning as well, their sight can detect heat signatures for hunting or simply surveying the area. They are defensive in the wild, not much of an antagonist aside from nest thievery, and newborns have been seen shaking their raised tail tip as a warning.

They grow longer as they age, growing closer and closer to evolving into Arbok. They can grow quite long, but none have been observed over eight feet(Arbok’s typically range a little above eleven feet).

We of course encourage our trainers to show us any abnormal pokemon they find, as the data is always appreciated and immediately entered into each study. Thank you to one of Spark’s trainers, Emilee, for allowing us to take data input from her beloved Ekans.

Another study, might as well update while I have it.

Vulpix, the fox pokemon. It has two forms, the first being the Fire type Kantonian form which is reddish-brown with cream markings on the underbelly and brown sock markings on all four paws. It has a curled tuft upon its head and six curled tails- when born, it only possesses one white tail but as it ages, its tails max at six total. Temperature increases the closer it is to evolution, which can be achieved using a Fire Stone. To survive colder temperature and weather, their internal temperature can raise though if the weather is too warm, it will expel flames to prevent itself from overheating. They’re a popular pick, seen as a cute pokemon though if wild, they lurk in grasslands.

Alolan vulpix, on the other hand, are better adapt for the cold climate of Mount Lanakila and so their pelts are better suited. Its pelt is pure white like snow, sock paws colored sky blue with a softer appearance, tuft and tails much more curled than its Kantonian counterpart- as could be assumed, it is an Ice type. Evolution can be achieved using an Ice stone. Alolan Vulpix are a little more social, staying in close knit groups referred to as Skulks, protecting and overseen by a strong Ninetales. Its sociability seems only for its own kind, as it doesn’t seen to enjoy other Pokemons company.

Both types domesticated are quite friendly, bonding easiest with trainers who hatched them. Wild of course, take a little longer to warm up but the bond is to be treasured, as with any Pokemon.

Happy Holidays!

To my team Mystic trainers as well as to the Instinct & Valor trainers. Happy holidays also to my beloved friends, family and pokemon, I will be accompanying them tonight to our traditional family dinner. Remember it’s not always about receiving gifts or giving them, its about the bond and closeness you share with those you love, allowing these occasions to bring you together finally for the needed time away and socialization. 

I do understand too, these aren’t the greatest times for all. Know that you are still loved, appreciated and treasured even if its not by blood. Stay strong if you have to go to these gatherings with those who are filled with discontent. Its hard, but you can do it, trainer. My messages are open to those who need a shoulder this day or night, I can do my best to just listen or talk.

I borrowed Spark’s Pikachu today, the more photogenic one of course, it had plenty of patience as I sketched out the basics. It even gave us a quote, it is such a sweet pokemon in comparison to his.. lovely Jolteon that wishes nothing but death on me. Personality notes added were specifically for his Pikachu, its rather manipulative, knowing smugly that its cute and gets away with its shenanigans.

Continuing on, Pikachu is a very popular “cute” pokemon, sometimes given or taken as a Starter pokemon, there is no true information regarding rarity in wild versus suburban areas. But wild pikachu tend to live in forested areas in social groups, commonly communicating amongst each other using squeaks and several tail gestures, such as rubbing their tails together, somewhat like a tail-shake. They also communicate via electrical surges, like most electric type pokemon, and will share this energy(its electrical energy is stored in the red pouches on their cheeks) with other Pikachu or electrical pokemon or even to avoid an electrical buildup within themselves. Alolan Pikachu have a slightly different appearance and mannerism from the common Kantonian Pikachu.

Simply, they are chubby, with short yellow fur with the only noticeable marks being the two horizontal stripes on their lower back, brown fur patch at the base of their tails, black tip ear markings and the red, circular cheek markings. Male Pikachu have a thunderbolt shaped tail, females have a dent that makes their tail tip look rounded like a heart. 

Pikachu enjoy eating berries, roasting them with electricity so they can eat them safely- this has a tendency to leave burnt patches in grass, trees or whatever they’ve sat on or near to cook the berry. They also, again like most electric types, have been seen eating electronic equipment and wires, causing damage for trainers and also locals near wild pikachu habitat. Power outages have been reported if major lines are interfered with, but its not common that they seek out these sources. If it raises its tail, it can check the surroundings but this can also get struck by lightning, which it may need to release if it causes a build up. Releasing extra energy is vital to maintaining a healthy state, and they do not mind sharing this with group mates.

Pikachu in large groups can cause accidental lightning storms, this chance increasing as their social group expands more and more. Of course, they do not mean to do this at all. It has a pre-evolution, Pichu and a further evolution, Raichu, if in Alola, it becomes an Alolan Raichu however. Thunderstones are required for either Raichu form but only in Alola will they evolve into the Alolan form.

A brief uncolored study on one of the Kantonian starters, the fire type Charmander, the lizard pokemon and its evolutionary line. We know of possibilities for further evolution, dubbed Mega Evolution, but right now, that is beyond our knowledge. 

Ive been working in the lab with Unova pokemon but until we gain more, I can only do official studies with what we do know for sure. This study was modeled by a few of my trainer’s Pokemon, none were named unfortunately and trainer names are respectfully excluded. While each pokemon shown had a different temperament, and all pokemon are vastly different, most Charmander aren’t too rowdy, Charmeleon very much enjoy trouble and Charizard has a tendency to mellow with age.

All are Fire types, Charizard a combo Fire and Flying type. Their tails are an indicator of health and emotional status, if a Charmander’s flame is allowed to cease, it will inevitably die. Charmeleon’s flame burns much stronger and the heat produced by the strong flame is a force to be reckoned with- it can range even to a light blue to white if very excited. They like to attack without a second thought, sometimes trainers can take the brunt of their emotional bursts. Charizard is much more refined than its second stage, it will not attack those weaker than itself, it tends to pick its fights much more particularly.

My trainers Charizard was a working type Pokemon, it accompanied them for their work as a delivery person, it was very sweet, a gentle giant but a little weary of those around it- it wasn’t to interested in battling and honestly, a bit clumsy but that was expected for such a big Pokemon. The Charmeleon I met was.. a little brute, not entirely unexpected, though it was quite vicious but once reigned in by its beloved trainer, it would cease its actions for orders. It fought valiantly but inevitably, lost humbly, not too upset at its failure. The Charmander was an abandoned starter Pokemon Professor Willow passed off to Spark, it was abused by its trainer and needed a specialist to show it that now it was safe. It was a three week long wait, but soon, Spark was able to get the little Pokemon to sit still for a check up. It had the sweetest smile and loved to be held. 

The Charizard shown to me was quite a special one too, just like Spark’s Luxray, they were not the usual coloring, instead a deep slate grey. Truly beautiful, I cannot thank my trainers enough for everything they do. All were such a wonderful help, wonderful conversation and I look forward to doing more in the future, especially seeing that Charizard again.

A study of Eevee I did by referencing my Eevee, Ice. They were a great model for both these studies, these are just simple outer studies, lacking any inner anatomical study- but I’ve included all known evolution options as of now. Of course, we have not yet encountered a Kalos evolution but right now our studies are on Unova, we will encounter one in the future for sure.

I can only hope these look alright, these are far from my usual studies. Candela seems to enjoy both stylings, I am not as pleased with the results but rather than argue, they are now posted. I will be doing more studies, be it on Eevee or another Pokemon- as I am still not in a new region, I will only be doing studies of our local population. To top off the study, a brief text study included.

Eevee

The Evolution Pokemon, Eevee is a normal type Pokemon that possesses a very unstable genetic makeup that allows it to evolve and adapt to each environment presented to it. Currently, there are eight possibilities known for each region. It is a bit of a rare Pokemon, commonly seen in urban areas but also are often bred(be it by recognized breeders or illegally or lacking morals) to be “cute partner Pokemon.” They are found in Kanto on Route 17 in the wild, somewhat rare still but definitely more abundant when comparing other areas. Candela’s Eevee(now a Flareon), was said to have a heart shaped tail tip marking, as opposed to normal Eevee markings. It could be a gender trait or just a new marking, this is only speculation, as Spark and I did not see that on our Eevee’s before they’d evolved. More study to be done as we see more and more Pokemon from our trainers and for ourselves.

Eevee is a quadrupedal Pokemon, light brown in color with cream colored scruff and tail tip marking, its long ears have a dark brown interior. They commonly have brown eyes, a small black nose with a short snout and its paws only have three toes with a single pink paw pad on the center of each paw. It is a very small Pokemon, head usually larger with the long ears, it has quite a cute appearance, hence why they are adored by trainers seeking that look for a Pokemon. Some trainers will abandon their Eevee if it evolves beyond what they seek, not caring to give it an Everstone to safely contain the evolution possibility.

What do like to do when you have free time?

I really enjoy reading in my spare time, but also spending time with my pokemon and friends are very enjoyable too. If we all get the chance, it is very relaxing to have a mellow day with my fellow leaders, or even one alone together(as the two of them can get rather chaotic and far from relaxing). But in the end, once all proper care and data entry is completed as planned, comfort clothing, my beloved partner pokemon by my side and a good book are a definite go to and preferred first option. If you ask, I still do my research even when technically “off” because it’s something I love to do.

Who is your favorite Team leader? (aside from yourself)

That’s a hard question, actually. I adore both my fellow leaders for the simple reasoning that they are such unique characters and wonderful in their own ways.

Candela is very stubborn, which is both good and bad, as it can often land her in.. unfavorable predicaments. But even so, she is so warm, friendly and loving towards those around her, even if she doesn’t fully trust or know them. She was the one who showed me how to have that warmth too, when we were younger and first met. She cares so deeply, her passion for anything she adores is never lacking and she strives for greatness in her own ways, no one else’s. Unless of course, she asks, as when Professor Willow sat her down to talk about the situation regarding her old friend, Arlo. That was unexpected of her, but another example that she cares very much, even for someone who had wounded her. Even as her rival, someone who doesn’t often agree with my method or reasoning, she is still a being I treasure dearly and would hate to lose for anything.

Spark is all around sweet, happy and exuberant to a degree that it hurts. He and I actually didn’t get along at first, but overtime, it was easy to see the kind of trainer he really is- Pokemon are human to him, he cares very deeply about their wellbeing and raises them as if they are his children. He taught me to open my heart to one of my favorite Pokemon again, and to be a little more happier even when failing. He’s very spontaneous, loyal, even more loving than Candela, and not the moron everyone labels him as. While he has his goofy traits, and acts rather childish, he’s actually very smart, he aided my research several times and still does. His goofy nature seems to just be how he learns, and thats alright. We all learn differently, and his antics of continuously flustering me has gotten him trouble but there, he does not learn. Cannot say entirely I’m bothered.

I suppose I would have to say Spark, though. Not really out of having a preference or unfair favoritism, but he does have an unfair advantage over my beloved rival. To put it rather simply, I suppose there’s a certain ‘spark’ between us. Candela wouldn’t be upset at my choice, but she would, and probably will, gag if she ever saw this.

A quick study, incomplete, to be completed. My Eevee, Ice, has yet to evolve but we have been studying all evolutionary possibilities and they seem to desire to evolve into Glaceon. Of course, I had made the plan far ahead when I recieved their egg but they were the one to decide; it is their future, not my own. Watching their reaction to meeting one of my trailer's Glaceon, the little ball of fur was beyond enamored. Though quickly they learned her icey nature matched her external temperature, as usual but Eevee is still young with so much to learn. Keeping it short, their tongue was stuck to Glaceon's fur, though she groomed and soothed Ice until free. That meeting really seemed to give them determination, when presented our current evolutionary knowledge for Eevee, Ice was set on the Ice type possibility. Of course, this requires us taking a trip when they are ready, but for now, they will learn to be patient and learn from their brother, Sushi, the beloved Vaporeon that is my partner pokemon. When we're ready, we'll visit Sinnoh for more than just their evolution- I am quite fond of the competitions held in Sinnoh in Hearthome City and Pachirisu is quite the elusive Pokemon that I think my fellow leader would adore. They seem common here, not near Hearthome but if we continue the usual route, we can easily reach Route 217 and see many things along the way- studying the Moss Rock would be ideal as well. It will be a momentous visit, but I know it will not be wasted for even a moment. We will learn, grow and be able to share our studies with trainers as well as my fellow leaders and Professor. Theory suggests that an Ice Stone could evolve certain Ice types such as Alolan Vulpix and Alolan Sandshrew but until we further explore Alola, Sinnoh is our current target aside from Unova, which has been spectacular. Before I continue more, I will end this before I ramble on longer.
