would you want the talia to be free of all bad action, do you prefer when she was an anti hero? what about when she didn’t like killing?
do you like the al ghuls as villains or do you feel the need to make them as nice as possible?
(i got reprimanded earlier for saying i didnt like talia giving damian up for adoption and prefered her raising him in the league but… someone got upset at me like i don’t know how else to explain to people that i like when characters especially grey ones do bad as much as they do good but thats just me, its not like i dont read the comics or wtv)
I don't know how long this has been in my ask box because I didn't see a notification for it, I apologize.
I'm going to address the problem with the person reprimanding you. There's always going to be someone that disagrees with you and Talia's character.
People will complain she raised him in the league then they'll complain she gave him up for adoption. There's no winning. I know we all wish that Damian was raised like Tallant Wayne but unfortunately that's not the case.
In a way I do wish Talia was free from all bad actions and I do like when she's an anti hero. Let me explain my perspective. Pre-Morrison Talia was Med school student who was a spy for her father. This Talia was sassy and emotional and you could see most good or bad things she did was based on how she felt.
Killing the villain who was about to kill Bruce caused her to breakdown crying. Choosing to do things like knock out a man with anesthetic was done because of her feelings of loyalty towards father. Everything that was bad was done in loyalty to her father. She hates doing bad things but she's loyal to her father.
I do wish Talia was free from some bad actions (yk the racist writings). I miss when it was heavily showed that Talia hates killing. I understand when she killed certain people (Slade...) but I wish she had a little monologue about how she hates killing but it had to be done. Or she hates killing but she hates Slade more.
I hate that modern depictions of Talia are so ready to kill, and especially if that person's Bruce. Talia's old character was happy at times but dare I say overall depressed....
I miss when writers showed her crying now she's stone cold trying to kill Batman.
In terms of the Al Ghuls being villains. I love Ra's as a villain but I don't like Talia and Damian as villains. Ra's is a good villain, even though I like him as a villain I don't like him as an abusive father and grandfather. I hate Ra's but he wouldn't lock Damian in a box in the desert without food and water for a week. That is not Ra's Al Ghul, he hates the world but he doesn't hate his family. I also hate that it's canon that he punishes Talia.
Ra's Al Ghul is a villain, in my opinion Batman's best villain. But writers get his character wrong...like really really wrong. At first they wrote that he fought against Nazis then to give Nyssa Al Ghul some trauma. They changed it and made him fight with the Nazis and leave Nyssa in a concentration camp. It doesn't make sense Ra's hates Nazis.
I hate Nyssa Al Ghul, she is a villain. Her character ruined a part of Ra's character and she tortured Talia. Like if you hate Ra's torture him, don't torture the girl who was born 100s of years later.
What I'm saying is some of the Al Ghuls are villains and some are not. And prefer the diversity and challenge in their family.
