so, codywan (at least in the fics I’ve read) tend to be very level-headed, a good match for each other, at the most there’s some mutual pining, some issues with fraternisation regs/rank difference…
but what if they start out really really disliking each other? Cody thinks he’s been assigned to a pompous ass, full of himself and completely unwilling to listen and learn
and Obi-Wan finds Cody too rigid (while Cody is simply reacting to his own Respectable Jedi Master facade, rather than to his being an actual little shit) and, deep down, misses Alpha-17 and isn’t quite happy with this commander who’s still a shiny
and maybe Obi-Wan makes some quip in the face of danger, and comes off as not taking his responsibilities seriously, not caring about the lives under his command, and maybe that’s when Cody snaps -
or they have to lead an offensive together from the ground, and get separated from the main force and are trapped somewhere together, alone, while they wait for evac -
or one of them is wounded and the other protects them -
so many options so little time! but then they start with some grudging mutual respect, but then warm up to each other…
Why not all of those leading up to a big blow out confrontation? And then they kiss.
