sorry to say that if you truly want to understand the concept of "dead person who comes back wrong" you need to watch inception and pay attention to mal because she's literally a thesis on the subject. as cobb says at the end of the film, she's just a shade, a memory of a fully formed person recreated by guilt and grief. and you need to see that to understand. in my opinion.
