My strat to Techies in Dota 2

Core items

When getting core items it depends on what the other team is like and what people kind of make your role out to be. The team can either make you a nuker which places bombs literally everywhere so they kill or they could make you more of a support.

The Items you would want to get is definitely a soul ring and mana boots because you are sooooooo mana dependent.

You would want a force staff but to be able to use it there would have to be bombs and you would have to be able to run up to them and get away so you don’t die before you use the force staff. So before a force staff get a eul’s because that also lets you get in position to place bombs when they’re in the air to land on.

After you get eul’s depending on the time you can get the force staff as described earlier or you could get a scythe of vise to have that steady mana regen and support the team better.

You are pretty much done once you get the Aghs scepter. Because you get the increases damage and range on ulti bombs. You can get a shivas or any other item like a heart if you feel like it would help and if you get to this point.

Starting Items

When I play Techies there has to be fast action in the beginning of the game. But first here are the items:

1 stack of Tangos

8 clarities

1 TP scroll

Now when you have done that you have to rush tp mid. But first get land minds. Once you tp to mid you can either place the sign on opposite side of river at mid or just go straight to rune or choke points. Some choke points are:

Dire side:

        From river to jungle at top

        Side shop entrances at top

        From lane to jungle top

        Steps into secret shop bottom

        Front of Ancient camp (only good if hero can take ancient camps. Ex. Tidehunter)

Radiant side:

        Side shop entrances bot

        Jungle entrances from lane

        Secret shop entrances

        River to secret shop

        River near rosh pit to jungle

        Entrance to strip to mid from river

Other:

        Front of Rosh Pit

        Lane to river areas top and bottom

When done placing some bombs in those places you can either go in lane or if it is time when people stop laning phase then be near the team fights to get exp (or gold). You should be getting some of the runes (bounty or regen are best) from top or bot letting you get your soul ring and mana boots (Arcane Booots).
