I wonder whose arms would I run and fall into if I were drunk in a room with everyone I have ever loved.

frames
Do you ever get that feeling though? When you’re with someone and something about them completely transports you to the past. Like a momentary silhouette that looks familiar, or a laugh, or the way they look at you. And suddenly you’re violently thrown inside your memories remembering that frame that you’ve seen somewhere else, with someone else. Some other time. In the past. A quick little frame frozen in time, that seems to be duplicated. It’s weird isn’t it? How our memories can get mixed up. A momentary lapse in time and you get a flood of these old emotions that were associated with the old frame. And now you’re here but your memories are all there, and it’s like tangled, confusing longing to be back there, in the old frame. Back in that moment in time, even if it wasn’t particularly notably or happy. But the nostalgia can be too much to take sometimes. And then you suppress it and give yourself a little nod and look back out the window at the passing road. It feels like it’s been an hour but truly it’s only been 3 seconds and you look back who you’re with and smile.

An animation I did of my most recent drawing. Animating is so much fun and I look forward to doing more for future drawings. Prints available in my shop. Etsy | Instagram
