iTunes popped this one up on shuffle today. So…organic sounding. Love the wet thudding bass.

A little nontechno…
Was feeling this track today. From the now disbanded group Gauntlet, a two person band, with two albums. It's a wrenching thunderous cacophony sounding number. Simple hook and wonderfully distorted tones. Had to upload this as all the youtube versions were from a prior recording which as over distorted and prevented any understanding of the track. This is a much better mix down. Enjoy.
After getting hooked on Front 242's Headhunter, Tragedy for You, Work, and Neverstop… I got the Backcatalog album which had this song, U-Men. A terrific slow burner by the Front 242 gang. Enjoy.
Sometimes you just need to party with the Countryside Crackheads.
Making some Adobe Photoshop clipping paths to Byron Bogues. Enjoy this 2001 track off his Minimeals Vol 2 EP, "A Player's Dream"
April 10 - Manhattan …
Well, I bought a new rye I’ve never had before, and a new vermouth I’ve never had before (at least, not in my home bar). So, what am I going to do, not make a Manhattan?
Punt e Mes isn’t quite as spicy as Carpano Antica Formula or Cocchi, but it’s got a little more going on than Noilly Prat, Dolin, Martini, and similar. A lot of bartenders prefer it to the really aggressive vermouths. I’ll have to keep experimenting to see how I feel. Fortunately, experiments like this are fun!
Riverboat’s a young (as in: only aged two years), inexpensive rye that apparently derives some of its flavors from additives. I’m not super fond of that idea, but the rye itself isn’t bad in this drink. When taken neat it’s … a little aggressive, with a slightly unpleasant finish that would probably be mellowed substantially by filtration or simply more time in the barrel. Still, for mixed drinks it works pretty well!
2.5 oz. Rye Whiskey (Riverboat)
.75 oz. Sweet Vermouth (Punt e Mes)
Dash Aromatic Bitters (The Bitter Truth)
Combine all ingredients in a pint glass over ice and stir thoroughly. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a Luxardo maraschino cherry.
I've had the Riverboat Rye, and like drinkshouts said, it's a bit young. I'd go as far and say that it has a bit of a FUNKINESS to it that I find it off putting, especially when you are sipping it neat or using it where the rye is a strong or major component of the cocktail. Still thinking that the best bang for your buck is Old Overholt for your everyday rye. Still looking…
I haven't had the Punt e Mes, but have had Dolin, Noilly Prat and the amazing Carpano Antica (Excellent but the most pricey of them all). With me just recently moving, I've had to "clear out" my refrigerated drinks, so I'm up for a new bottle of sweet vermouth and I'll definitely be giving the Punt e Mes a try.
Played this morning on my commute into work. Starts off quiet, but comes in like a monster. Enjoy the bangs! Tim Xavier - Coke & Pepsi from the Turnstyle EP. 2003.
College - TWA Flight 450 from the album Northern Council 2011. Really a nifty cool track. 80's synth vibe to it, but it really makes you feel like your flying. Fun!
Put in your headphone. Crank it up. Hit PLAY. Get work done. Double time.
HELL. YEAH.
DJ Misjah & Groovehead - Trippin Out 2005 (Forcesupreme mix)
Mark Verbos Live PA - TECHNO! 1999 - Not like what they make now.
Marco Carola - Confusion track from the Fragile EP (1999). One of my absolute favorites and probably one of the best IMHO of Carola's. This is pure "chugging along" techno. Imagine how a train "chugs" along. Now you know why they called him the "Man Train". Fucking bang it people, bang it.
Long live techno.

Since I was feeling a little bummed out today, I created a CD Compilation to cheer me up. Excellent music has been coming out and this is a good mix of what I have been enjoying. This is a collection of Indie, Post Punk, Rock, Alternative, & Techno/Electronica.
