While technically not classed as a hybrid in my mind Maelstrom is actually a genetically modified SeaWing made as a side character for a roleplay. His story revolves around being a science experiment before even hatching but hey, there was a good reason for it. Dr. D Helix, an IceWing scientist, ended up with Maelstrom's egg after her two partners died of a disease she couldn't heal. She was unfortunately immune to the disease and had to raise a dragonet on her own. A part of her knew Maelstrom would probably suffer the same fate as his parents, so modified his DNA to be immune, by using her own blood while he was still in the egg developing. It worked, but not without a price. Now, this SeaWing has a list of problems even Helix can't fix. For one, icicles grew out of his tail, but in a large cluster which makes moving it almost impossible without pain. Then there is the joint problems where he is slowly losing mobility due to the ice that develops within him. He has a scratchy voice because of this and sometimes has a coughing fit. Despite almost dying everyday, Maelstrom is a sweetheart who only ever wants to help others. Which he does get the chance to as his immunity to the disease cutting through the SeaWing population is able to be turned into a medicine of sorts, saving them.
