Except i only watched technoblade's potato war and potato war only. No any other videos of his. just the potato war. over and over again.)
There's so much i like about them and i'm just gonna spend an eternity and a half talking about them because that's just what i do. Even if i adore rivalsduo, potato duo, other duos that aren't regarding Techno, phistin, etc. I will FOREVER keep them in a special place in my heart. This is like the backstory before someone gives you the recipe omfg.
So, important shit. One thing that's most notable about them is their dynamic (if that's what it's called), they just CLICK. I don't know how else to put it, you see them and they're just hanging out, you'll see them and they're thinking like one organism that can't read each other's minds but they're CLOSE ENOUGH. Also, The entire artic (snow biome) thingy?? Yeah. YEAH.
THIS IS HOW I LOOK WRITING ABOUT THEM. Okay. To not go on a ten hour rant. Im going to answer ye questions lad/lass/ladss or whatever else there is.
My thoughts on them are that they're cool, that they click really well, that i'll kill myself because Phil was originally supposed to betray Techno further making Techno's point of telling dream that Dream was the only person who didn't try to use or betray him true, finding it cool how cTechno put Phil's stasis pearl in the water thingy first, etc. They're genuinely my favorites.
Now, scenarios. I really, REALLY like them in modern settings. I don't know why but the thought of them being mundane and normal (even if Phil's, like, immortal and just as mundane as the latter) is hilarious to me. It's like two people with incredible potential supressing it because they either don't want all that (cTechno and his fear of peer pressure and, unmentioned, responsibilites and expectations), or because they're too tired to do that (cPhil, also the fact that he'd rather sit by and watch rather than intervening more than he's supposed to). What I also like is royal AUs where Techno's a God from far, far away fulfilling his destiny while Phil actively runs away from his destiny or whatever it is. I have not read passerine yet, no, so I won't be referencing it. I also really like villain-hero AUs but i've only found one oneshot that had c!phil be a villain and c!Techno a hero and they both were roommates but neither of them knew what the latter was and they were just trying to kill each other until they found out and that's all i can recall from that fic.
HEADCANONS, boy, do i have a lot of those,
Cphil HATES olives and Ctechno HATES tomatoes (he would eat them if there was no way of avoiding it but he'd rather avoid them). They both just steal each other's foods that they don't like because they KNOW that the latter won't make an issue about it
CTechno NEEDS the warmth because of the cold so he usually stands close to any being around him (steve, the hounds, etc.) but Phil eventually makes him a blanket that he made because, IF YOUR CONSTANT TEMPERATURE IS SOMETHING, THE BLANKET WILL TRAP THE HEAT AND MAKE IT HIGHER THAN WHAT IT IS which would be comfortable to Techno
as a contrast, all crows LOVE playing in the snow for some reason. Phil likes the snow a lot more than Techno does even if Techno claims he's unbothered by it. The only issue is when the snow gets on top of a farm or something.
Techno ONLY listens to Phil's music taste because he's DEATHLY afraid of Phil going like "boy what the hell is this ts?? ts is cringe as fuck"
In addition to the last HC, Phil's music taste has started to grow on Techno and Techno can actually ENJOY music because the voices get a bit quieter whenever Phil's around and all.
Crows have this bonding activity called "laying" where they lay next to one another. I think you know where im going with this.
Techno is a big fan of Phil's hair because he's a piglin and all. And Phil's blond. Gold. Ousuushu goldddd...
They both use potatoes like you'd use bread. basically, most people who eat rice with every meal use use it like bread. Something's too overspiced? Rice. Well, in their case, they use potatoes because they can do that as well.

Also, people in fics are PRETTY worried about Techno more than Phil even if Techno is, in Phil's words, "controlled chaos" whilst Phil would burn a village just because he felt like it. Or go against the government because he was forced to kill his own son. Phil is FAR MORE CONCERNING than Techno is imo. Techno can actually acknowledge stuff while phils like "oh lol okay bye" in a way. I can't put it into words because IM STUPID and IM AN IDIOT but okay. Every time i see red and light green or dark green and pink, I think of them.

Okay so. I really like him not being able to concentrate on a single thing. Thatās mega important to me. Why would it be, man might ask. Well, it makes things inefficient in some ways but, psh, thatās out of the way. What **I** like about it is that it makes him seem immature to the eyes of others, it makes him look careless, scatterbrained, unamused. He doesnāt look a TAD BIT like he cares as much as he does, the fake Idgafer. In the yelling with Tommy about how discs arenāt people he gets sidetracked, like, two times. Thatās an approximate, hence the word ālikeā. Tommy saw it as him not caring, at least from the way I understood it. Tommy kept running in circles with some points (not literally running in circles, but his points supported one another as if he was trying to earn respect from someone, from my pov) and it MAKES ME SICK. I DONāT KNOW. Also, the whole ādogā thing with Pogtopia?? Exactly. He seemed like he didnāt care for the rebellion resulting in Tommy going āshow some more enthusiasm!ā Because heās monotone as well. Now that I think about it, Tommy probably didnāt feel like Techno cared a half of how hard Tommy cared. Huh. The red festival, Techno couldnāt get himself to focus on GOING TO THE EXECUTION BOX, instead constantly referring to chat. He was going far ahead Niki and Phil while they were dragging the horses to the prison, he brought Apollo because he wanted to do it (WHICH SEEMS CARELESS AND SCATTERBRAINED AND IMPULSIVE AND IMMATURā [slap]).
okay but can we talk about how impulsive he can be when the thing heās doing is COMPLETELY inconsequential?? Or at least he thinks he is? He can do so many things that can be seen as ārecklessā as long as thereās no consequences to it. Apollo, trolling skeppy because he knew Skeppy would just laugh about it, other stuff I donāt remember now. Itās not like heās insane or anything, heās mostly fine with the impulsiveness, but idk he usually gets explained to be cautious and not all up for games in fanon. Techno does care but in an integrated way. He has said it himself. The whole thing like āthose who treat me with kindness Iāll repay the kindness the tenfoldā āthose who treat me with injustice and hurt my friends Iāll repay that injustice a thousand times over.ā is literally the justice he made in his head. It doesnāt really say ājust because the majority of people donāt like this person doesnāt mean I shouldnātā and he goes by that judgement of his. It can be interpreted in many ways, Iām gonna be honest. The way that I interpret it is that his doorās open for people who could go into rehab because. Well. He did try to make a makeshift rehab (retirement) and it didnāt go well for him. The door isnāt open to some people but those people have been thrown out of the door for a reason.
another thing that makes him seem reckless and uncaring, distant is how heās the unsociablest person ever. Not just unsociable, no, heās the biggest loser ever. While it isnāt shown much to how he would exactly deal with his feelings (calling them cringe doesnāt count), Iād think that he just starts another task to focus on while the other one eats him from the inside. Itās something the voices are great at supporting because they constantly want SOMETHING (itās also why, in fanon, I like to consider him to be prone to addictions. To feel something, to run away? I think you get my point). He wonāt communicate anything, heāll look for a solution. I kinda project this onto him because people perceive things differently and I prescient it like this. Feelings arenāt really feelings to him, theyāre puzzles he has to solve to either be happy or to make someone else happy. Hence, he gives them gifts because thatās a positive thing you can do. His constant ādoing somethingā or having a task to focus on would benefit it. He makes something to distract himself from feelings and then gives someone a gift to show what he feels. It could be an apology thing made through sweat or it could be something else that doesnāt require eye-to-eye contact and communication. Giving Phil the emerald, which he later laughed about, was something he didnāt have to face in a strict setting. Idk thatās just how I think honestly.
also, another thing I wanted to mention is kind of how heās avoidant until he isnāt. Like a twig that can only take so much pressure before it snaps. The pressure depends on the situation and the thickness of the twig. He wasnāt exactly on squeaking š speaking terms with Tommy before doomsday and all, but then, he just did it. He resolved his grudge by planning from far away and then taking a chance of action. I donāt know. Iām gonna explode. That sounds like running and running until you reach your goal. Bonus the thing that he calls some things he struggles with ācringeā. But this is just my POV.
