I find it very touching that collectively everyone looked at Wayne Munson with his gruff voice and his blue collar job, his cigarettes and his conspiracy theories, his southern accent and his small town Indiana residence, and said this man is either a die-hard queer ally or queer himself. And I love that because we are everywhere. We have gruff small town uncles and we are gruff small town uncles. We should remember that.
Signs of a heart attack are different for each gender yet we only really teach the male warning signs. Make sure you’re aware of both and spread it to as many other women as possible!
EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE TAKEN A CPR CLASS I have had to be that person who points out that the training videos ALWAYS frame the “male” symptoms as the default universal heart attack experience, while the “female” symptoms are framed as though they’re a deviation from the norm, rather than the primary symptom set that cis women experience.
ALSO: I just showed this post to my roommate, who is an MD at a clinic that specializes in care for the LGBT community in the Baltimore area. I asked her whether hormones were responsible for the difference in the “male/female” symptom arrays. I asked how that would apply to her trans patients (which, she treats a LOT of trans patients). She said, basically, that the longer you’ve taken testosterone the more likely you are to get the intense chest pressure and the arm pain, versus the upper back pressure and shortness of breath.
Obviously I am not a doctor myself, consult your own health care provider, etc.
Reblogging this comment because this is the FIRST TIME I’ve ever seen someone address what XYZ medical condition would look like in trans patients. Also this is partly why my great-grandma died: the (male) doctor dismissed her heart attack as basically indigestion, because she didn’t have the typical male symptoms.
Oh my God someone was able to answer the trans patient question!

"How come you never talk to me about sports?"
It's late in the afternoon on a lazy Sunday, and they're just curled up on the couch together. Eddie's got a book in one hand, and he's carding the fingers of his other through Steve's hair. Steve's got the sports pages from the morning paper in his lap, and he's looking through it idly.
He stops when he hears Eddie's question, though, cranes his neck back to look at him.
"Huh?"
"How come you never talk about sports? I just realised I don't even know what teams you support." Eddie dog-ears his book and sets his book aside as he asks.
Steve frowns. "But… you don't care about sports. Like, at all. Why would I bore you by talking about it?"
"Are you bored when I talk about D&D?” Eddie asks, hand stilling in Steve’s hair. Steve shakes his head. “I tell you about my sessions all the time. I tell you about the books I'm reading and music shit, and you always listen to me. You don't really care about any of that stuff, either."
Steve shakes his head. "Yeah, but that’s different,” he tries to argue.
“How so?”
Steve wracks his brain for the words to describe it. “I like listening to you talk about D&D because you get so excited. I like hearing you talk about something you care about."
Eddie smiles and kisses Steve’s forehead. He looks almost smug, like he’s won a debate Steve hadn’t even realised he was part of.
"So let me ask again. Why don't you talk about sports more?"
Steve is quiet, staring at nothing in the distance as he puts the pieces together.
"I never... Nobody ever.... I mean, except Lucas, but Robin and Dustin always rolled their eyes when I made references to it, so..."
Eddie cups Steve’s face and looks him in the eye. "Tell me something."
"What?"
"I don't know. What's the drama right now? How's your team doing in the league or the championship or whatever it's called? Tell me about the last game you saw on TV! I wanna hear you talk about your interests, too."
Steve feels warmth burst in his chest as he sets the newspaper aside.
Eddie leans back against the couch, watching fondly as he listens. Steve is hesitant at first, stumbling over his words. A little voice in the back of his head keeps tripping him up, telling him Eddie doesn't care about any of this and you're boring him, wrap it up.
Every time he lets the voice win, though, every time he stops talking, trails off, or tries to change the topic to something Eddie might enjoy more, Eddie asks him a question.
"What does that rule mean?"
"How does team selection even work?"
"What would your dream line-up look like right now?"
And Steve answers. And Eddie listens.
When Eddie finally runs out of questions, Steve's surprised by how happy he is.
"You're really cute when you talk about sports, you know that right? Your face lights up with it."
Steve leans in and kisses Eddie. "I love you."
"Love you too, babe. I really do."
being abused doesn’t justify Billy’s behavior. I was abused and never acted like him. It’s weird how many people justify his terrible actions because he had a bad childhood. He’s still responsible.
*checks my notes* hmmm i dont recall that i have ever used the word "justify" in ANY of my posts about billy
"I was abused and never acted like him." congratulations you want a fucking medal or something?
trauma reactions differ depending on the conditions of the victim sweetheart, the sooner you realize that, the better my sanity will be
need i remind everyone in this god forsaken fandom that billy was still actively being abused and had NO support system, the self destructive trauma response he had was a result of having to be in survival mode 24/7 as well as being forced to do his parents job; looking after a child when he was very much still a child.
Another person trying to disregard and invalidate abuse victims who aren't perfect little soft angels who just need a nice person to save them. Some of us are angry. Some of us got pissed off at being treat a certain way. Billy was a teenage boy who knew nothing but violence. I grew up around teenage boys who were way more fucked up and dangerous.
No one justifies anything and he doesn't even exist? What should we do? Take him to court to face his crimes?
Billy never escaped his abuse. He lived in it daily. Dacre said Neil tormented him every day of his life meaning he was in survival mode 24/7 with no one, not a single person on his side
btw i block empty blogs now. i didn’t use to but the influx of bots on this site has made me not care as much about the “what if that’s actually a real person” because chances are, it isn’t. if you want to avoid this fate do the bare minimum customization. thanks 👍

Thinking about Eddie with the kids playing DnD after school at the aforementioned building and getting roped into a game of Truth or Dare even though he’s aware playing a game other than DnD with some nosy kids isn’t a very smart thing to do in the first place.
But Jeff and Gareth are pretty convincing, so there’s that too. Eddie just can’t say no to free lunch for a whole week, now can he? What harm could a game of Truth or Dare do anyways, right?
In hindsight, Eddie should’ve known the universe isn’t going easy on him.
“Eddie, Truth or Dare?” Dustin asks with a huge grin on his face.
That kid is just way too happy about the fact Eddie is participating. It’s a little suspicious.
“Well, I’m no quitter, sooo…” Eddie is stretching the last word, punctuating his decision with a flat hand thumped down on the wooden table, “Dare it is.”
Dustin giggles all excited. “You have to kiss the first person who enters this room on the mouth!”
A chorus of ‘ewww’ and evil laughs with fingers pointing in his direction goes through the round.
Eddie smirks before he shrugs. “Alright, yeah”, he says, fully aware no one will come through these doors since it’s well past school time and no adults are around whatsoever, “If someone walks in here, I’ll do it.” He emphasizes the ‘if’ with a satisfied grin.
Dustin cocks his head, looks at the watch on his wrist and says loud, “three… two… one-“
Suddenly the door bursts open.
“Henderson! What the hell man!? I told you to be outside on time!” Steve’s standing in his usual mom pose, shooting daggers at the kids.
Dustin sighs happily, “always reliable”, before his gaze shifts from Steve to Eddie, still grinning. “No quitter, right, Eddie?”
Eddie sits frozen in his chair, looking at Steve and can’t believe his (bad) luck. He looks at Dustin. “You little shit! You planned this!?” Eddie whisper-shouts accusingly.
Dustin just shrugs triumphantly and makes some gestures for Eddie to get moving.
Eddie gets up abruptly, sending the chair flying back with an uncomfortable screeching sound and more or less stomps around the table, over to where Steve stands.
Now it’s Steve who’s frozen, eyebrows pinching together. “Uh, hey man, you good?” He’s clearly lost of what’s going on.
Eddie wants to get it over with, like ripping off a bandaid and already braces himself to be punched in the face or shoved away. Eddie halts right in front of Steve, who put his hands for safety in front of him, confused as hell.
“Whow, Eddie, wha-“
Eddie quickly grabs Steve by the neck as gently as possible, taking in the confused brown eyes Steve gives him.
“Don’t hate me for this, Big Boy”, he breathes out before leaning in, thinking ‘fuck it’, since it could be his last time with Steve ever again, maybe even losing him as a friend, and seals both of their lips in a soft kiss. Eddie deepens the unresponsive kiss by pressing harder into him, squeezing his own eyes shut in fear of a fist to his face.
To his surprise Steve let’s out a little sound and kisses back-
No wait, what!?
Eddie feels how Steve grabs onto his vest and pulls him closer, licking into the metalhead’s mouth. It was Eddie’s turn now to make a surprising sound, practically whimpering.
When they break apart both of them look flushed, staring into each other’s eyes, completely stunned.
Loud cheering and a chorus of “Fucking finally!” erupts behind them.
Eddie didn’t know if he should be angry with Dustin or relieved the kiss went better than he could’ve ever imagine.

Some Stranger Things Friendships and their vibes
Steve and Robin - Absolute ride or die, platonic soulmates, disaster lesbian and bi panic himbo, they are a package deal in everything, hang outs, work, even dates they will drag their partners on double dates with them.
Eddie and Gareth - Blood Brothers, they for sure did a blood handshake in the woods cause it was metal af, Eddie having fucked ideas and Gareth as his hype man, Eddie came out to Gareth as gay first and Gareth came out as trans to Eddie first.
Nancy and Steve - calm, understanding the parental/eldest sibling responsibilities the other feels, both strong leaders in the group for different reasons, both agree their stronger as friends than they ever were together.
Jonathan and Eddie and Argyle - Stoner bros, literally the most insane but best conversations happen when these three hang out, Eddie clocked Jargyle as soon as he met them, they all help destress each other, Jonathan and Eddie bond over rough childhoods with fucked dads, Eddie and Argyle bond over being the most recent people to be thrown into UD craziness with the party and being the only people with normal reactions anymore.
Robin and Gareth - conspiring besties, they want Steddie to happen asap they both know Steve and Eddie are into the other but sworn to bff secrecy of telling the other, Gareth is a more chill person since he gets out a lot of stress through drumming so he's content to listen to Robin's hairbrained schemes similar to what he does with Eddie. He also agrees with Steve that Robin should ask out Nancy.
Nancy and Eddie - smartest duo of all the friendships, they will deal out judgement and quick wit to everyone and every insult thrown around, they're the ones to organise the group to go to marches in Indianapolis, they love to hang out in the library and will read the same book each week together like they're own book club. Eddie tries to convince Nancy to ask out Robin, especially after he feels like he owes Robin for helping him get with Steve.
