With you detective investigations in the Midoriya house!
In fact, this thought was born out of simple mental notions:
âMom, so why did you marry Daddy?â
âHe was sweet and very clumsy. He was always banging his head against the lintel or the lockers. And he always looked so offended by it that he was about to burn them.â
So there we go!
The layout in the Midoriya house is designed for fairly tall people with standard doorways.
Just look at the height of the cabinets - almost to the ceiling;
or the height of the hood from the cooktop.
Inko clearly has to stand on her tiptoes to reach the button on the hood; if with her quirk she can easily reach books or plates from high shelves, then here for the on/off button on the hood has to try hard.
As a conclusion: this layout was calculated for a tall person and his household, which means - the third member of the family is tall and most likely knows how to cook. And there is an assumption that previously this apartment belonged just to him, and after the wedding (or some specific events), the family moved into this apartment.
In the case of the DFO, it looks tricky: the Midoriya apartment itself is in the city of Musutafu (and if we remember the Star Wars parallels, Mustafar is the planet that was once a green planet (Jp. Midori - green), and where Darth Vader's castle is afterwards), which is not far from the Cradle of Heroes - Academia UA. Living under the noses of the heroes and getting things done, watching for new talents and quirks not far from them. And since the concentration of heroes per square meter is exceeded here because of this, the crime here will obviously be at a minimum, no one will think about it. Quite in the spirit of the Dark Lord. And if it turns out that he was hiding under his real last name, that's even more ironic.
An architect in Japan said: âIn Japan, the kitchen design usually uses the height of women to make them comfortable in the kitchen, because in most cases the home and cooking is done by a woman. And the average Japanese woman is 158-160 cm.â
Just imagine now that this apartment in Musutafu actually belonged to Hisashi, a bachelor apartment, and the family then moved in under some circumstances. That would explain why little Izuku's room had racks of various design books and a workstation: a computer and an adult computer chair. This room used to be a real workroom. And once Izuku became too old to sleep with his parents, the study became his room.
Although it is more likely that this workroom might have belonged to Inko, who might have worked from home as a clothes designer, for example: she sews and there are books on the shelves devoted to design.
(How I want to know the backstory of Inko and Hisashi đĽş)
And if it was really AFO's computer, can you image how he was annoyed by the Allmight merch ads?
âŚhe-he-he!!⌠*evilâs giggling*
Moreover. All of Izuku's merchandise came from the House. From the workroom that had become his room.
Well, now you see that Afo's words take on a meaning, don't you?
Familiar feelings
Inspired by this
Do you think the dad for one theory has a shaky evidence? Asides from the doctor and physical appearance thing, what are the other firm theories to convince that it's true.
Hisashi was mentionned once in 330 chapters in a manga where weâve met Jirouâs parents. Add to that how AFOâs face is always shadowed.
Seriously, Izuku was hospitalized so many times and no mention of his father.
AFO ignoring Izuku in Kamino despite having Search, X-Ray quirk and the kid hiding six meters away from him behind a flimsy wall.
AFO telling All Might that he loathes him because âYou took something from me!â
The only moment in the anime when AFO is raising his voice is when he calls Izuku by his full name and he keeps giving All Might shit for being a bad teacher.
Izuku getting the quirks of the past OFA users, something that never happened before.
There are about three times where AFO calls Izuku by name. Always his full name. 1. While fighting All Might. 2. In the Vestige world. 3. At the end of the war arc, where ShigarAFO was evacuated by the noumus. Every time it happens, there is virtually no one around. (He was planning to kill All Might, the Vestiges canât snitch, and neither can the noumus)
Speaking of the end of the war arc, what AFO used to push back Izuku was a love tap compared to what he could have done. And since his hand was shown bleeding immediately after, it really looks like he held back and hurt himself doing so.
Machia smelling âtwo mastersâ when Shigaraki and Izuku are fighting during the war arc.
Izuku loving quirks and his mumbling is acknowledged in-universe as creepy. AFO is shown to mumble about quirks during Kamino.
Izuku is shown to be more fragile than his classmates. Bakugou was thrown through a wall, Todoroki took a building on the neck, and so on. One could argue that Izukuâs bone breaking tendencies are because OFA got ridiculously buffed during All Mightâs time but again, during Kamino, AFO is shown shaking his hand as if he is in pain after using the air canon that sent All Might through three buildings.
Seriously, if AFO really wanted to end the OFA line, he could have kidnapped Izuku any time between the Sport Festival and the moment when he went to the dorms. He knew who Izuku was and it would have been so easy.
There are probably more things but I am tired.
Afo mentioning âhis blood relativeSâ in front of izuku and immediately stopping himself and then continues to talk about his brother.
Izuku and yoichi having the same eye colour with white pupils.
Afo and izuku being the only ones who get all excited about quirks.
Second and third not trusting izuku at first and yoichi reminding them, that they safed him DESPITE knowing he is afos brother.
Afos theme playing for izuku in his fight against overhaul in the anime.
The meanings of hisashis name are âlong story/long life/a long time agoâ, âeternalâ, âhistoryâ, âpurposeâ, âwillâ, âdeterminationâ, âaspirationâ, âambitionâ and âking.â All of this fits afo perfectly!
Also the colors to AFOâs lightning are an inverted version of Izukuâs (red with a black core as opposed to green with a white core)
Yoichiâs voice is very similar to Izukuâs
AFO and Izukuâs model sheets for season 3 have the same pose
AFO claiming heâs been interested in Izuku and not AM since going to prison, even though by that point Izuku hadnât done much to be worthy of such attention. (the only thing of note AFO could have known about was Izuku defeating Muscular, while AM nearly wiped out his entire criminal empire)
Afos hand over tomura looks like that of a puppeteer and thats what tomura is for afo - a marionette. The hand under izuku looks as if he is about to touch izukus face in a loving way.
His âIn prison I never stopped thinking about you!â
Afo being known for to go after the loved ones of the ofa users and still never made a move to target inko, despite her being an easy target.
Horikoshiâs comments about Dekuâs father: He will be revealed in the future but anything more is spoilers. Which means we already saw him in manga but didnât know he was Dekuâs father. If he was a new or upcoming character he would say âintroduceâ rather than ârevealâ.
Izukuâs name means âemergingâ âcoming outâ âbeing from (a certain) familyâ âbeing native of a particular placeâ âlong time agoâ and âold storyâ. If we combine them we can assume Izuku comes from a certain family, heâs native of mind dimension and is involved in an old story long time ago (AFO/OFA fight).
The doctor that diagnosed Izuku is AFOâs right hand man. He is shady and untrustworthy. He probably lied to keep AFOâs family safe from his enemies.
Danger sense doesnât work when AFO is involved, because malice is neccessary for this quirk to activate and he doesnât hate Izuku.
The doctorâs grandson was one of Izukuâs childhood bullies. So he became a Nomu and tried to kidnap Izuku right after Stain fight. (Orders can be given to Nomus with a special quirk, so AFO probably gave this order)
Itâs really odd how AFO killed Nana and forced All Might to hide in America but doesnât have the same level of malice towards Izuku. It feels like he avoids hurting him as much as he can.
1. Only blood relatives can interact with Quirks and their Individuality. Izuku also communicates with the Vestiges, and whatâs more, he does it not only in his dreams but also in real life.
2. No Noumus has ever harmed Izuku, though he could have had his arm torn off back in the Simulation Park. Or killed him in Hosu. Or hunt him down in Camp and kill him. Or kill him in Jaku, like the other heroes. Noumu stayed away from him.
3. Afo and Izuku have the same large palms, curly hair, jaw line, and ear-shell.
4. Izuku likes Dark Fantasy, too, and was fascinated by Tokoyamiâs room. In Game âOne Justiceâ before the fight between Afo and Tokoyami, Afo says he likes Dark Fantasy too.
5. Izuku has the characteristic âAuraâ in the second book of Analysis; this is also indicated on Afoâs page.
6. Izuku has a kind of charisma that rallies people around him who are willing to share their quirks with him to achieve a goal. They fully trust him and his strategic skills. Izuku brings people with bright quirks together around him.
7. Izuku is possessive. He is possessive of his loved ones, ready to burn down the world for them. One such proprietor also put his brother in a vault and for years has been willing to burn cities and people for the sake of his quirk and the his Vestige.

MHA Chapter 301 Analysis
âThe Wrong Way to Put Out a Fire: Part 1âÂ
 ***SPOILERS AHEAD***
_______
Who was Rei Todoroki comparing her children to and which child did she see peeking through the door that day?
Chapter 301 is incredibly revealing and shows that a flashback based upon a single characterâs point of view is not and cannot be read as the full story.Â
What we knew of the Todoroki family - specifically Enji and Rei - mainly came from Shoutoâs flashbacks during the Sports Festival and what we essentially overheard the family discuss when the focus is turned on them.Â
However! It isnât the full story! It can even be misleading!Â
That is a mind-blowing way to write in a series like this. Just 100% good use of double-meaning and reread value. Horikoshi is honest-to-goodness impressive.
_______
Chapter 301 reveals at least the first half of the downfall of the Todoroki family structure and life.Â
We have a marriage built upon an agreement.Â
A man with growing power and influence marrying the daughter of an old-money family that had lost its prestige over time. Both parties understood that they had their part to give. Enji gives Reiâs family a continued connection to power, influence, and money while Rei offers her ice quirk to create the kind of child Enji Todoroki wants.
Enji as the Hero Endeavor has at this point already given up on becoming Number 1. Heâs seen the gap between himself and All Might and judged that he comes up short. He simply isnât able to bridge that gap, but he believes a child of his can - given the right quirk combination.Â
Enji and Rei have their first child, Touya, and have a second, Fuyumi, to be his companion and support.Â
Enji told Touya what he was going to be, built up the expectation (and pressure) that heâd teach him to be the Number 1 hero. But Touyaâs body and quirk donât match. His quirk harmed his body. At no fault of his own, Touya was judged as incapable of fulfilling Endeavorâs vision.Â
All Touya wanted was his fatherâs attention and affection. He pushed himself to prove he still could be a great hero with his quirk, and hurt himself trying to get the attention he needed as a child.Â
Enji, being an extremely well-written flawed character, wants two things: 1) to continue his vision and 2) to get his first child to stop hurting himself. So, he does what he believes would solve both problems. Continue pushing for the successful mix of quirks. His thought process likely being: If Touya could see that he couldnât bridge the gap and wouldnât have to, surely heâd stop.Â
But to Touya, heâs being replaced. Left behind. Erased.Â
Being cast aside and told to try something else only fuels his desperation to prove himself. It fuels his anger too. He continues to self-destruct.Â
And he lashes out.Â
Where was Rei during all of this?Â
Rei, meanwhile, had been upholding her end of the marriage arrangement. Having child after child put her under more and more strain, exhausting her. Maybe she believed that Enjiâs plan would get Touya to stop. Maybe she believed that they all had their part to endure to be in this family.Â
Then, Touya lashed out at her and the infant Shouto with his flames.Â
I think this will be continued in the next chapter, but this is what we already know:
Touya lashed out at Rei and Shouto when Enji pushed him away
Shouto lived mostly separated from his siblings for the majority of his childhood, including Touya who was still present
Enji put Rei in a mental hospital when she poured boiling water on Shouto
Touyaâs âdeathâ occurred shortly after Rei was sent to the hospital
If Touya lashed out only once, there wouldnât be a need to separate Shouto from him for so long. Itâs likely Touya lashed out more than once. As sad as it is, it is also possible that he was not put through proper therapy and instead was sedated or punished.Â
If Touya wasnât getting the help he needed and he lashed out with his fire more than once?
How do you stop your child from burning you, your other children, or himself?Â
How do you put out a fire?
You pour water on it.Â
You use whatever water is nearby. Over and over for as many times as he ignites himself.Â
That was Reiâs job as Touyaâs mother. When he was upset and burst into flames, she said it herself: âWe have to cool him down!âÂ
So when Shouto overheard her talking to her mother in his flashback, what he understood was that he was being compared to Endeavor and his mother couldnât stand to raise him anymore.Â
But what did Rei see? Who?
She saw Touya as he was when his hair was still turning white. Her baby boy, Touya, overhearing her compare the children to him and rejecting him. Saying she shouldnât be the one to raise Touya because she canât help him when she can clearly see he needs help. And in that state of extreme stress, she thought Touya had come to lash out again.Â
So she grabbed the water she had on hand and poured.Â
_______
This chapter is incredibly revealing and just the title card itself seems to point in this direction.Â
âThatâs why Iâm here.â Rei is stepping up again to put out a fire. This time hopefully the right way.Â
Enji was a terrible father, but not just for the reasons we believed we knew. He never let go of his vision and expected Touya to give up for the same reasons he did. Endeavor pushed Shouto to succeed not only for his vision but also to save the life of Touya whose drive he couldnât understand. He was and is an extremely flawed and desperate man.Â
Rei hurt Shouto, but not because he reminded her of Endeavor. She was scrambling to put out Touyaâs flames, trying to do what she could with what little support, mental stability, and options she believed she had available. Pushed to the brink, she slipped up and mistook Shouto for Touya.Â
Enji and Rei are both incredibly well-written flawed parents. Weâre only now seeing the fuller picture. Â

This is in part a continuation and expansion of this post.Â
This post is based on my real-time realization discussion on the Toshinoumu discord manga chat page. If you want to read the Toshinoumu AU/ âI AmâŚâ Series, check out our @toshinoumu blog for more information.Â
_______
Additional fun/sad fact courtesy of @aoimikansâ: Reiâs favorite flower is a blue lily. Lily roots and bulbs have been used for medicinal purposes. They were boiled into teas to treat stomach disorders, fevers, and assist women in labor. They have also been used topically to treat sores and burns. The essential oil is used to help treat depression.Â
_______
ALSO I SEE YOU DOCTOR YOU CANâT HIDE!Â
This arc is something else
GUYS THIS IS SO IMPORTANT
On this page, which is the last page in the chapter, you see that dialogue in the bottom left?
This is AFO saying, "This is the story of how I became the greatest evil ruler."
Using the EXACT SAME PHRASING in japanese that Deku uses when he says, "This is the story of how I became the greatest hero," in chapter one.
The sentence is exactly the same except for where he switches out "hero" for "maou" (which means devil, demon lord/king, etc.)
So.. I saw this post and I had to animate it, at least partly..
I may finish it at some point but not right now as I gotta sleep
