The Last Something That Meant Anything || Dot & Flick

Dot wanted so hard to stay strong for Flick. He was her brother and she didn’t want to leave him all alone in the midst of war. But she also wanted more than anything to sleep. To sleep forever would be glorious, especially if it would take the pain away. As the medics set to work reversing the curse to fix the cuts, she took hold of Flick’s hand, squeezing it it gently. She needed to reassure him that everything would be alright, but she didn’t want to lie to him again. Dot had done more than enough lying in the past few years, and she knew that she would never have the chance to make things right.
When the medics had done all that they could for her, she tried to sit up, but couldn’t find the strength. Some of her wounds had been too deep and the internal bleeding was beyond anyone’s help “No matter what happens, Flick, I just want you to know that I love you.” She said before her eyes closed once again. After a while, her body went limp against the bed as the life drained from her. The bright light came back to her, and this time she stood in the darkness for a long time before eventually walking into the light, no longer a burden to anyone.
