Oh...
I guess this still exists...
Saruman of Many Colours... I can see why they changed that in the movies
Currently reading Lord of the Rings and while much of it seems quite outdated, the Ring and obssession it causes seems quite foreboding to me, a member of the generation more afraid to lose their phone than their life
Entering a new Fandom like...
Y'all are like: Krampus, the character that scares children into obedience with threats of kidnapping and cannibalism? He's rad! Elf-on-the-shelf, scaring children into obedience with threats if not getting presents? How messed up! I hate it!
Hey question @ everyone who has already seen the new Stex:
Which songs got new translations?
Thanks 😊
MEHR! Product Placement
People like to (rightfully) bash on Stage Entertainment for being an "evil" corp, but honestly MEHR! is so much worse. It's so hard to find a neutral review of the new Stex version with the popular search engines (hehe... engine).
Product placement galore, rarely disclosed too. I know Stage does this as well, but they don't completely banish independent reviews from the first 3 Google pages...
I wouldn't care as much if Stex didn't get heavy goverment funding too.
Carrie the Luggage Van - Is she ACTUALLY a SLEEPER?
Or at least somewhat inspired by them?
Actual photos of the Sleepers are so hard to come by, since they only appeared onstage for about 4 minutes as the non-Component identities of Volta and Joule, when Pumping Iron was placed before AC/DC in the running order. Also, these costumes were the least important builds in a show full of elaborate, expensive costumes to be made, so not a lot of time and budget went into realising the design.
Similarly, Carrie’s costume we can surmise is a quick build on a tight budget - she was Tassita the Quiet Car until well into rehearsals, when (thankfully) someone seemed to realise that a Quiet Car was very out of place at the loudest event of the year. So Carrie the Luggage Van is a last-minute bodge of ideas, it’s reasonable to expect some elements of her costume were intended to be for the “Quiet Car” concept (if there was such a thing…)
However, the original design for the 3rd Class Sleeper bears some similarity to Carrie. We have the overall dark palette highlighted with a mustard orange; flat-fronted, shallow shoulder boxes; oddly bulky hair accessories.
I don’t think the 3rd Class Sleeper design is the sole source for Carrie, but I do wonder if it was the starting point from which ideas were further developed, such as the demure knee-length skirt (the dropped waist seam is as long as the Sleeper’s skirt used to be!) and the ubiquitous collar. Carrie looks nothing like anything else in Starlight designs, and honestly at this point I’d be shocked if something genuinely new had been created.

PSA
@pregnantseinfeld informed me that I was in a Buzzfeed article (with @creamynut and @bootyscientist2) a few months ago and had no idea.
Turns out that Buzzfeed just embeds Tumblr posts.
So if they take a post you’re in and say, embed it from your blog:
You can go back to the post and edit it to whatever you want and it will appear in the article like that. So you can do things like add “pay me royalties” 100 times
and upload 10 pictures of Waluigi in the T Pose
And ruin the article formatting.

📣 Achtunk! Achtunk!
