okay so i saw a theory about mags speaking spanish (posted before SOtR)… and i just want to say everyone who said it was explicitly disproven because of SOtR don’t know how brain trauma works. of course, if it was true, she would have had to have been bilingual in sotr. it’s outright stated she and wiress were tortured SEVERELY, so it’s fairly plausible that they experienced blows to the head, concussions, etc… and bad enough brain damage can lead to someone forgetting how to do basic math, their fine motor skills, FORGETTING ADDITIONAL LANGUAGES THEY HAVE LEARNT, and even reading & writing in their own native language. it’s not hard to believe that what she went through caused her to regress so extremely she couldn’t speak english (or whatever they spoke in panem) anymore.
